This 53 ha Grand Cru vineyard area lies just north of the picturesque walled medieval village of Riquewihr. Facing south and South-East on the steep hill Schoenenbourg at an altitude of between 265 and 380 meters.

The philosophy Voltaire owned vineyards here in the 16th Century.

Restrained to start with, this soon opens up gloriously & develops richness and depth with a slightly honeyed nose.

The Great British Pub Crawl, it certainly is good to finally have a word for it!

And almost certainly used by the residents of Southwold who would have been enjoying a pint of beer (or possibly ale) in the 16th century brewed on the exact site of our current Adnams brewery.
