This week, BCTGA had the pleasure of hosting a two-day workshop at Countryside Days 2026.
Pippa and Daisy engaged with school groups, teaching children about the life cycle of a Christmas tree, its sustainability, and its importance as an environmentally beneficial crop. Each child decorated a disk made from a recycled tree to take home, along with some information and a word search.
Over the two days, they welcomed 10 schools and enjoyed answering the children’s many questions about all things Christmas trees. They also spent time speaking with teachers, providing each with the BCTGA Classroom Activity Pack to support continued learning back at school.

Countryside Days is a fantastic charitable event, funded by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and free for schools to attend, giving Key Stage 2 children the chance to learn more about food, farming, and the countryside.
