My boyfriend thinks I'm bonkers because I spent a very long time knitting this extremely delicate miniature scarf using extremely skinny needles and cotton thread, (a very long time!) When I showed the finished result to him, he examined it carefully and remarked on the holes. I grinned with pride and declared it was meant to be that way, and that it looks fabulously moth eaten! He then tilted his head and noted that it definitely grows more narrow at one end, my grin faded a little and I stuck my nose up in the air, "Yes well, it's one of a kind, isn't it - the imperfections are what make it so wonderful and unique." He handed my tiny piece of hand-knitted fabric back to me without further comment, and I know now that I have to try and find a home for my masterpiece in a collector's grand dolls house, to prove I know what I'm doing, and that I am in fact a skilled creative genius. I intend to make many more of these flawed beauties. Any takers? π
