Look what's back...
For the first time since last Christmas we have our amazing Maple Caramelised Walnuts in stock.
Walnut halves cooked in maple syrup with cinnamon, vanilla and salt, then dipped in my favourite 45% dark milk Vietnamese chocolate. These are a proper treat!

Our September limited edition truffle is the darkest chocolate we have made to date. These chocolates use the same 85% dark as our popular single origin Columbian bars using cocoa beans from the Tumaco region. This has a bold flavour without being overly bitter, and has earthy undertones. Our truffles use a water based ganache to really let the cocoa flavour shine, and are dipped in tempered chocolate before being rolled in cocoa powder for a very traditional truffle look. These are one for the real dark chocolate lover.
Extra Dark Truffles are our September limited edition micro batch, available now in-store, online and at markets.

Our next full day Chocolatier Basic Skills course is scheduled for Sunday 11th October.
During the day you will learn to
🍫 temper chocolate
🍫 make ganaches
🍫 produce truffles
🍫 create moulded chocolates

We provide everything you need (including lunch), and you get to take lots of your creations away with you at the end of the day.
These are always great fun, and you are sure to learn lots!

It's madness, sheer madness.
My FB and Insta feeds are full of adverts for Advent Calendars 😮 (yes, I follow quite a lot of chocolatiers).
I refuse to put mine up on the website yet because it's mid September. Apparently this means I'm behind the times because the supermarkets seem to have Christmas aisles already. But come on, we haven't had bonfire night, we haven't had Halloween, the kids are barely back at school.
Anyway, the point of this is, if you are in the market for an Advent Calendar this year, please be patient. We will be doing one, and it will be just as special as usual. I just refuse to put them on the website over 2 months in advance.

Let's get summery, with our August limited edition flavour. A fresh strawberry pate de fruit paired with a white chocolate elderflower ganache, shelled in milk chocolate.
These are decorated with a red and yellow sunburst design that is very deco.

We have a new flavour in the Liquorice Bar...

We can't get hold of the Liquorice Moons anymore, so I have replaced them with Liquorice Fruit Duos. These are half liquorice, half like a fruity w**e gum and all delicious.

The team gave them a taste test today and they got a resounding thumbs up 👍👍👍

Our Plant Based or Vegan Selection box has had a revamp 😀
This selection has always been somewhat neglected, with fewer flavours than our other selections, and with a sleeve that lacked a central image.
Well no longer... thanks to our talented friend .brockhurst aka Pearly Cat Design, we now have a swirl of colourful cocoa pods decorating the box.
And we have made Biscoff Cups and Pear and Vanilla permanent additions to the selection, so there are now 4 flavours in both the 6 piece and 12 piece selections.

It's another hot weather project - our website has had a bit of a refresh.
It's still as easy to use as ever, but it now has a colour scheme that matches the distinctive paintwork of our shop.
I have also done a bit of a tidy up on the products in the shop, and updated the reviews we show on the homepage.
I'm rather pleased with it 😀

The hot weather means I have time to get a few tasks finished which have been waiting for a while.
Including finally adding our liquorice selection to the website.... yay!
You no longer need to visit our Hastings shop to enjoy the delights of The Liquorice Bar. You can mix and match your flavours, just like you can in-store, and can either get them in a bag, or in a ballotin if you want a more "gifty" presentation.
It's liquorice heaven!

It's too hot to make chocolates, so the team are Working From Home. Which means a few bits and pieces that have been pending for a while will now start cropping up, starting with a new blog post (for the first time in an embarrassingly long time!).
