As part of today I want to share this lovely German floral bluebird pitcher jug from my own collection. It was made by Ulmer Keramik Atelier in the 1950s and has the sweetest stopper. I have added some thyme flowers from the garden 😊

'12 Picture Panel' Vintage German Springerle / Historical Wax Baking Cookie Mould from the 1900's in good condition with light wear. Dark brown with light orange in parts of the design. Made from hard wax. Has some light scratches and uneven wax in places. Looks a different colour in different light. See photos.

Approximate measurements:

12.2 cm × 20.6 cm x 1.8 cm
Weight: 406 grams.

These kinds of moulds were originally made of wood which was carved by hand but it got so expensive to make them that by the 1800's they started to make them out of hard wax to reduce the price. These moulds were beautifully made with intricate patterns and designs to be used to decorate traditional biscuits, springerle, and ginger bread. If you look closer, you can see the meticulous detail that has gone into this one. The wax almost looks like wood grain! As these are so old, they are not recommended to use with food but as historical art to hang on the wall. I gave had customers make cookies from them though. This one is ready to be hung.

As it's delicate, it will be packed very well with extra protection and padding to make sure it arrives safely to its new home.

Most of my items are vintage pieces with some historical wear and not in mint condition unless noted. Also, the colour might be slightly different in the photos from real life, but I do my best to capture the colour as best as I can. 17.2 cm × 10.5 cm (middle) x 2.6 cm
Weight: 226 grams.
