To coincide with the opening of Hayle Heritage Centre's New Exhibition Hayle Herstory: untold women's storied at the heart of a Cornish Town. we are holding 2 free drop in children's workshops.

Come along to Hayle Heritage Centre on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th April for free family crafts.

Join Artist Fran Rowse of Cornish Maids, who will be using archival images of women from our collection in a paper doll-making activity. This will open conversations about these remarkable women of history, whose stories have long gone untold, bridging the gap between girls today and their historic counterparts.

Its only 2 weeks until Hayle Heritage Centre opens its doors with its new exhibition Hayle Herstory: Untold women's stories at the heart of a Cornish Town . We also start our season of talks and craft sessions .

Our 1st talk is at Hayle Heritage Centre and is entitled - "Heritage Healthcare and Contemporary Herbalism".
Wednesday 17th April, 6.15pm start.

Join clinical herbalist Ruthie Weaver BSc. (Hons) for this fascinating talk covering an introduction to plant medicine - what it is and how it works.
The talk will explore the history of medicine and science as well as the lost heritage of folk medicine that was practiced by wise women (and indeed men) who were culled in the witch trials. Ruthie will also discuss the modern conventional healthcare system as well as how modern herbalists practice, what a clinical or medical herbalist is and, finally, how you can support your health at home using herbs and much more.

We will be sharing tasters along with a complementary herbal tea.
Come along and learn about the ancient ways of plant medicine through the lens of modern science.
