"But where are the beds?”
It’s one of the questions we’re asked most often, and the answer is we don't have beds at Treetops.
We are one of the UK’s largest modern community‑based hospices, which means our care doesn’t happen in wards or inpatient units. Instead, we support people where they feel safest and most comfortable: in their own homes.
As demand for end‑of‑life care continues to rise, our non‑bedded model is becoming increasingly important. It allows us to reach more people across southern and central Derbyshire, provide expert clinical care at home, and work closely with local health and care partners to ease pressure on bedded hospices and NHS services.
Our three‑year strategy, Crafting the Future of Hospice Care, sets out how we’re strengthening and expanding this model, ensuring that everyone who needs us receives compassionate, personalised support, wherever they live.
