Wool Mission Part 2: The Mill! πŸ€ŽπŸ‘

So yesterday late afternoon I made it to Paul Crookes in Bridlington and handed over almost 50kg of Manx Loaghtan wool to Paul my spinner πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ€Ž

And as if one of my wool heroes wasn't enough for the day, Jacinta Bowie Textile Design happened to be holidaying nearby so she came along too! I couldn't believe these two had never met! We had a ridiculous time wearing the Manx knitwear that Jacinta has designed, while checking over the fleeces, snapping some photos and catching up on all the latest wool world news πŸ˜…

Without these two wonderful people I would never have taken the leap to have my first batch of wool spun four years ago! Both so passionate and knowledgeable and so keen to pass on their knowledge to others πŸ™πŸΌ I am so lucky to have their support!

Wool Mission Part 3 coming soon! πŸ‘πŸ€ŽπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‘πŸ€ŽπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‘πŸ€ŽπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

What a day it has been! Collecting wool from Jane and Alistair in Cumbria for the first time ... A huge thanks to them for all their work in prepping almost 50 kilos of this beautiful Manx Loaghtan fleece! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Next stop? of course!

The wool has now been delivered and it's been a super productive day so much more on this to come!

Introducing our first ever Cardigan in the current issue of Knitting Magazine πŸ‘πŸ€πŸ€©

Did I ever imagine my obsession with avoiding waste would land me in several knitting magazines and result in over 15 new knitwear designs?! No I did not! I'm not even a knitter 🫣

But teaming up with Jacinta Bowie Designs who shares my obsession with British wool has made this all possible, I can't thank her enough! And this one is absolutely gorgeous πŸ₯°

I hate to be that person to bring this up already, but I'd love to get an idea of what times/days and what kind of venues people are most interested in for festive workshops! 🫣

I'm looking primarily at Finger Knit Wool Wreath workshops and Needle Felted Robins but open to more ... And all will be in 2nd & 3rd weeks of December after my Christmas market & open studios.

Please do leave any extra comments as to locations, recommended venues & anything else below!

By regular venues I mean similar to the ones I use now such as Authentic Uppermill
Gordon Rigg Garden, Home & Leisure🌿 Todmorden and maybe The Making Mill Hebden Bridge Heart Gallery .... All suggestions welcome!

I'm keen to try one in a bar as a craft and sip kinda vibe! What do you think?!

Thanks all!

It's September!!! Which can mean only two things ... Toadstools πŸ„ and cosy crafting time! And bringing those two things together does not get much better πŸ₯°πŸ„πŸ€Ž

This year I've got my first ever workshop to make Toadstool Brooches or Decorations, as well as my popular Toadstool Fibre Art workshops πŸ„ come join for woolly, crafty, cosy vibes!

The summer has flashed by as always but I have to say I am ready for Autumn πŸ‚ ... (Which appears to now also be known as the "BER months" in recent trends πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜…)

Hoping to get a bit more nice weather this month though after our washout festival πŸ₯΄πŸ€žπŸΌ

There's only one chance this year to make your own handwoven chunky wool cowl or headband and it's coming up on Wednesday 9th September 6:30-9pm at Authentic Uppermill

(That's unless you're one of the lucky people coming to the Woodland Tipi & Yurts Crafts Weekend! 🌳)

You'll learn to weave on a peg loom and go home with your finished cosy headband or cowl!

And for the fellas out there ... You're welcome too you know! I'd love to have more men join my workshops. Look how fab John looks in his headband!

It's almost time for getting cosy, is anyone else kind of looking forward to it?!
