TODMORDEN LIKEWISE!
A stretch of the A646 has been closed between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge for emergency sewerage repairs, no timescale available at present, and could be shut for a week. Awaiting updates. Diversions are in place, around this valley these are neither quick or easy routes.
This is not good, this time of year is crucial for local businesses. After a weekend’s revenue decimated due to the recent flood warning, and a storm impacting footfall last weekend; a week’s unexpected road closure on top of this is potentially devastating to many of your local businesses/local employers.
Please do as much of your Christmas purchasing as locally as you can, from the businesses who employ locally, pay their taxes and do it onshore, and who keep their lights on all year round including during the quiet months. Our community has stepped up for each other so many times, we rally together and we do this thing, so many times that it’s woven into our fabric now and proudly so. Please step up again in support of your local traders this Christmas.
