I'm Hannah Nunn a nature inspired artist based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire who makes lighting, wallpaper, window films and paper treasures! About 20 years ago I was holding some paper cuts up to the light to enjoy the silhouettes they made and I had an 'aha' moment. 'Why don't I make lights?' I saw a whole range of glowing lighting flash before me! I'm very excited to say that all these years

later these lamps are creating cosy corners in homes all over the world and that they have been the making of my career as an artist. You can find out how the story unfolded and watch a beautiful video about my story on my website. https://www.hannahnunn.co.uk/pages/about-hannah-nunn

I don't have my Facebook messages switched on so please email me [email protected] with any queries.

My new cow parsley stems have gone down so well. Thanks to everyone who has ordered one...or some.

You can find them on my website or if you happen to live in:

Orkney - you can now find them in

Kirkby Lonsdale - you can find them in

Malton - I have just sent some to a beautiful new stockist

And Beaumaris in Anglesey at

They come packed flat and make an ideal portable prezzie.

But of course you can catch the real thing in roadsides, field edges and hedgerows all over the place right now πŸ’›

Can't believe it's five years since I made my pebble window film design! It's still going strong and I sometimes get a peek of it on a local door window as I pass by πŸ’š

Here you can see the different print options....

'frost on clear' in 1st pic (shadowtastic)

'clear on frost' in 2nd pic (also good at shadows)

'white on frost' (for most privacy) in 3rd pic.

If you're familiar with my pebble treasure hangings you might spot some of them in this design. That's where they first began.

It's printed to size by the company.

A couple of weeks ago when I posted about the owlets we spotted in the bluebells I had a comment from someone called reassuring me that it was normal behavior from them to be out and about on the forest floor. She said that she has encountered them 40-50 metres away from the nest site which I found amazing. Anyway I checked out her Instagram and it turns out she's a writer and one of her books is called The Company of Owls! I snapped up a copy and devoured it!Β

Polly Atkin lives in The Lake District and there was a time for years and years where she would hear owls every night around her house but she never ever saw them. Then she spotted one tawny, and then one tawny led to another...and then she started to see them all the time! She got her owl eye in, you might say. She was lucky to find a trio of owlets close to her home and it was so lovely to read about her encounters as she watched them grow. I have learned so much about these incredible creatures by reading her lovely book.

Living so close to the woods I too hear tawny owls a hootin' all the time but, apart from the owlets who they were on the other side of town, I have only seen one tawny close to home. I'm really inspired by Polly's 'owl attention' and she's made me realise it's very possible to spot them if you give yourself the opportunity.Β

So thank you Polly. I'm glad the algorithm showed you our owlets and thankyou for saying hello. And would you like to borrow this book? Then we can talk even more owl!

P.s. this very intriguing bit of branch turned up right in the middle of our garden table last week. I like to think it was delivered by owl...but is anyone gonna own up. It's a mystery!

I just made a new cow parsley stem. I'm not sure what took me so long to be honest πŸ˜‚

They are made from gold card with engraved flowers and they look so delicate and pretty, especially when they catch the light.

They look great altogether or mixed in with other stems. I've just added a little post of them to my website and there's also the option to buy them individually in your pick-n-mix.

All ready to take to the Makefield Market at this weekend πŸ’›

The studio is open! And it's full of 's beautiful creations! And of course Ling herself is here! She's currently on the sofa making a fern from paper dyed with onion skin!

I was just sweeping up outside in time for our OPEN STUDIO this weekend and in the great big pile of twigs and fluff that the jackdaws discarded I found the remains of an egg!

The jackdaw nest is up in the eaves above my window and the little babies are squeaking and squeaking.

Last year I made this wreath out of the pile of jackdaw twigs and as I set to work twisting and binding them together with gardening wire I was amazed when I considered that birds did all of this WITH THEIR BEAKS alone!

I wrote about this and the jackdaws in my new journal which arrived this week. I think the egg was a celebratory gift from them this morning πŸ₯š!

Awe and reverence to the nest builders!

And thanks to for the wreath idea πŸ’š

The blackbird is made by ...I don't think she makes a jackdaw? (Do you Hannah? I think I need one for my 'nest')

Come and see all of this in my studio tomorrow. Open 11-5 in Hebden Bridge.

My 'something I have noticed' journal arrived this morning. I love the colour of the cover. Phew!

I've now had my cuppa. And had a read through. And took some photos. And added it to my website.

So it's now available to buy! You'll find it under 'books and journals' on my website.

I hoped it would arrive in time for our OPEN STUDIO this Saturday. Come and have a flick through in real life :)

P.s. don't forget to enter my joint giveaway with ...details in my profile x

There have been some awesome flowery shadows in the sunny studio this afternoon. These ones are made by my Wild Edge window film printed in the 'frost on clear' option by the company.

This design has rosebay willow herb in it which is how Ling Warlow (my open studio pop up guest this Saturday) first came across my work. It's nice, given that we're both planty people that we came together because of a flower πŸ’š

Have you entered our joint giveaway yet? We have a lovely bundle of flowery prizes. Here is the link

I still can't believe who we met in the woods this week peeping out from the ferns and bluebells.

As we'd never encountered owlets on the forest floor before we wondered if they needed help but looking it up, all the guidance said to leave them well alone unless they were in grave danger from cars or predators so that's what we did.

I knew about baby birds 'branching' but assumed that would be on a branch in a tree but my friend tells me it's completely normal for them to be on the ground. The parents will be looking out for them AND what I didn't know and what she once witnessed first hand is that owlets can climb back up the tree again! Blooming amazing!

The last photo in this sequence shows how far away they were from where we stood on the path. The first photo is with my zoom lens on so I could get in closer and check that they weren't actually statues!

The photos in between are of the incredibly luminous and luscious woods with a sea of bluebells and clouds of wild garlic. Astonishing.

I'll put a link to my full blog post in my stories πŸ’šπŸŒ³πŸͺ»πŸŒ±πŸ¦‰
