Wow I can't say much more than that, round 8 and final round of Mb models summer series and everything was to race for tonight.

Practice the car felt good and decent lap times so I felt confident with it.
Heat 1 and I managed 19 laps in 300. Dad noticed a few people were running brand new tyres so a message to mum and a new set of tyres appeared lol.
Heat 2 and as usual with new tyres 20 laps achieved in 314.
This put me in 2nd place in the A final behind Charlie Simmons with the overall championship to win over the 2 finals.
A final leg 1, bit of a rush of adrenaline at the start as I wanted to win so bad and collided with Charlie and crashed then hit someone else and I was in 6th. Head down and some sensible driving and some good overtakes and worked my way back up to finish 2nd with 19 laps in 311.
A quick word from Dad after I marshalled and he reminded me you can't win a race on the first lap so drive my normal race in the second leg and keep on Charlie to try force a mistake from him.
A final leg 2 and the overall championship win came down to this race. Remembering what dad said I got a good start and was right on Charlie's gearbox. He was only pulling away from me very slowly and I was driving smooth and clean and I was ready for any mistake he may make but he never made one, he took the win and I was only 5 seconds behind him getting 20 laps in 310.
He won the championship overall beating me by only 6 points so I was really happy with how I had done and always good to get a team Yokomo 1st and 2nd in the championship.

A massive thanks to bally for running another fun championship and the more serious championships are not far away now but I feel less nervous now so I'm ready.
Thanks to Charlie for the positive comments that I'm getting faster and he was worried at one point if he made a mistake so he had to drive perfect.

As always massive thanks to,

Dad for being chief mechanic and Mum for being my number one fan and motivator love you both.

A couple of weeks off now for refurbs at the track and probably a track change so the perfect time for a car strip down and check over.
Once again thank you to everyone for the help in any way and also for the cheers and support from everyone trackside it really is appreciated.

This week was round 7 of MB Models summer championship,
New tyres all round to last me the final 2 round so minimal practice just getting the steering back right.

Heat 1 and after let's call it a collision ( he drove into me) with Charlie Simmons we was both dead last but we worked our way through and took 1st and 2nd places and I was happy with the car getting 19 laps in 306
Heat 2 and nothing adjusted on the car I just needed to keep it clean and I did getting 20 laps in 313.
Heat 3 and took it a bit too easy and made a mistake and ended only getting 19 laps in 300.98.

This put me in 2nd place in the A final behind Charlie so I just needed to keep on him and hoped he made a mistake.
A final leg 1, Good clean start and just traced a clean race taking 2nd place with 19 laps in 302.
A final leg 2 same start as final 1 and just kept a clean race until 1 lap to go when I landed on a crashed car and the marshal forgot to put me back on my wheels which cost an extra 10 seconds but I can't home in 2nd with 19 laps.

Overall in still in top spot with 1 round to go and I need to get switched on as Charlie can win it overall next week if he does the double.

Well round 4 of the Mid East regionals yesterday at A1 raceway in Grantham,
An early get up time at 5.30 to set off at 6am to be there at 7.30 to meet up with other team snafu members and do a track walk.
It was a very bumpy track where every lap was different with the car being thrown everywhere.
But practice one and the new gearing we was trying was way too fast for me and we had too much front end grip so dad changed some things for practice 2.
Practice 2 was better with the gearing and front end grip, there was an Infield bump that was sending the front end straight up for a lot of drivers me included so some more changes made.
Heat 1 and i was off in 7th but had the confidence in the car after the first lap so put the hammer down and managed to finish 1st with 12 laps in 321 so very happy with that.
Heat 2 and the confidence was a bit too much and pushed too hard to try be faster and and made mistakes but managed 11 laps in 300.19.
Heat 3 and I think the tiredness was getting to me as managed 11 in 301 so I was getting slower and making silly mistakes.
Heat 4 and dad put the final tyres on to get a last good heat in, I managed 12 in 324 so two 12 lap heats I was really happy with.
This put me starting 4th in the C final but also meant I got a 2nd place medal in the under 13s for the day which I was really proud of.
C final starting 4th is my highest qualifying in the regionals and I was in with some fast racers but just had to do my thing. I got a good start and was running in 4th with Jack mills white right behind me and he did an awesome move to take the position and put me in 5th. I kept steady away until Josh Anderson RC was on my tail and had a really good battle with him right to the end where he made a mistake and I had a gap to come home in 5th which I was really happy with.
So at the moment with 1 round to go I'm currently 41st overall in the regional championship, the top placed F5 driver and 3rd placed under 13 so there is a lot to race for in the last round at Thearne RC club in September.
This Wednesday I'm back racing indoors at Mb models in their summer championship where everything is still to race for.

Last night was round 6 of MB Models summer championship. Knowing numbers would be low with the football match on I had to make the most of tonight.
After last week with the broken sway bar I went out into practice to get the steering right and dad got it back perfect ready to go.

Heat 1 the usual 19 laps in 304 but the car felt good.
Heat 2 19 laps in 305 but dad could see something was wrong with my front wheel when going down the straight. Upon inspection one of the bearings had disintegrated so I was lucky to finish.
Heat 3 new bearings in the front and managed 19 laps in 301 so this got me TQ and pole in the A final.

A final leg 1 got off to a good start but Jamie Kilner was fast behind me but he made some mistakes and I didn't make one so I was gone to take the win with 19 laps in 301.
A final leg 2 much the same as the first leg with start to finish lead and 19 laps in 301.
Massive shout out to Ashley Horn for making the A final and getting some big points.
So a maximum points haul for me just a shame England couldn't win but maybe if they had Race Stars UK onboard the win would of been in the bag 😉😉
This weekend is an early get up on Saturday for the next round of my regionals at the A1 track in Retford so a 6am set off time. I may see some of you down there if so just say hi if you have time as it's nice to meet people who follow me.

Once again thanks to,

So this weekend it was a trip over the Pennines to Bury model raceway to get the new controller and car sorted of set up for the regionals next week seeing I hadn't used it outdoors.
It was a decent turn out of team snafu drivers so a day full of laughs was guaranteed.
Upon seeing the practice list I had somehow been put in the top heat with some of the fastest guys in the UK (the hall brothers). It was the wrong thing seeing I was just setting everything up but I will still give it my best.
When we was going up for a little practice dad noticed something was broken on the car so had to go back and swap it.
So only got time for the main practice and my lap times were way off the others pace but I was here to set up not win.
Heat 1 and the car was going ok until I got to the corner at the end of the straight and turned my car but one of the wheels decided it wanted to carry straight on so only managed 6 laps.
Heat 2 and loctite on the screws now so let's see how we go, managed to complete the race with 11 laps in 325 and fastest lap of 27 seconds.
Heat 3 and a few tweaks on the power to clear the tabletops to make up time and managed 11 laps in 311 with a fastest lap of 26.7.
Heat 4 and but more confidence with the set up now and managed 11 laps in 312 with fastest lap of 27 but more consistent.
This put me in 9th in the B final but now I didn't have to let any fast cars through and cost me time I could go for it.
Good start with a little bump off someone put me in last but I just fully went for it and started making places up to where I was in 4th behind Dean DC and by god hes way faster outdoors than indoors and I struggled to find somewhere to go past him. In true Dean style tho he made a couple of mistakes that I capitalised on and got into 3rd where I stayed until the end getting 11 laps in 309 and managed a 25.7 fastest lap.

Overall we was happy with the car and controller set up by the end of the day ready for the regional next Saturday at the A1 track.
Dad was chatting with some top drivers when we got home about gearing and we was advised on some little changes to try to get faster pick up and keep the top speed we already have to get more competitive and hopefully better results.

Next race will be indoors at MB Models on Wednesday night so see how that goes with hopefully a win for me and England in the football.

MB Models summer series round 6,

Having missed last week with being away I felt a bit rusty in practice and struggling with my turning.

3 heats and 2 finals format tonight so onto heat 1, I managed 19 laps in 307 but the car didn't feel right.
Heat 2 19 laps in 304 which was still good but the car was snapping mid corner.
Heat 3 and because I knew what the car was going to do I was ready for it and got 19 in 300.78, so close to 20 laps.
This put me 2nd place in the A final but I was still unsure with the car mid corner.
Anyway, A final leg 1, good start and kept 2nd place behind Charlie Simmons with Elliot horn on my tail, I made 1 mistake on a corner and that let Elliot past but I got back on it and closed the gap down for him to make a mistake and me get back through to come home in 2nd place.
In-between finals dad was still trying to figure out why the car wasn't handling as good as usual and he noticed that one of the front sway bar cups had snapped in two so had no resistance when turning left. With 5 minutes before my final he got the new parts from the shop and with 20 seconds to go the car was fixed ready to go.

A final leg 2, another good start to keep 2nd place but with all the changes we had made through the night to get the steering right it was way out now and wasn't turning enough to keep tight so it pushed wide on a corner and Elliot went past to take 2nd place. I kept steady away to come home in 3rd place which I was happy with to say I had a bad handling car and still got 19 laps in 301.
So now the car is fixed dad just needs to dial the steering back in and get it to where it was so I can fully commit to my laps.

Thanks as always to,
Race Stars UK
