The Lizard Sea Shanty Festival kicks off at 6pm this Friday at The Lizard Football and Social Club, and Twisted Lizard is stocked up with this year’s official 2026 Sea Shanty Festival T-shirts! 👕

We’ll be keeping the shop open a little later on Friday, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to pop in and grab your festival tee before heading off for an exciting evening of shanties! 🎶🍻

Morning opening hours over the rest of the festival weekend are going to be a little bit dreckly! 😆 I work elsewhere too, so I can’t give definite times for Saturday and Sunday just yet, but hopefully doors will be open from about 12.30.

🌘 ECLIPSE 2026 🌒

The Lizard Peninsula - the most southerly point of mainland Britain, is one of the premier locations in the UK to view the significant partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Seeing more than 90% of the Sun covered from parts of the British Isles is a rare event, making this one especially worth watching. The next time the Moon obscures as much of the Sun will be in 2081, and the next total solar eclipse in the UK will be in 2090..

I hope you all had a HaPpY EaStEr 🐰🐣

It’s been so nice to finally see a bit of sunshine recently, especially after it seems like we've just endured the longest, darkest, dankest winter in human memory. It's still been rather chilly with the wind, but today is shaping up to be a hot one☀️😎

My son’s had a pretty boring time hanging around while I’ve been working every day since he broke up from school… so today Twisted Lizard will be CLOSED while we make the most of the first proper warm day of the year and head to the beach ⛱️🌊👙🩴

Update:

I’m not going to lie - this year has been HARD.
A long term relationship breakdown at the start of the summer holidays has thrown all sorts my way & it’s been a bit of a stressful juggling act ever since.

Because of the change in circumstances, I have had to pop over to Bulgaria for a week or so to sort a few things out. Mum will be opening the shop if she’s able to (and if the Cornish mizzle stays away 🌧️😅).
Also, Twisted Lizard will be closed during the first week of November for a little revamp and reset.

My health has been a bit wobbly too, so opening hours have been a bit unpredictable lately. I've been dealing with some severe dizzy spells and am not really supposed to be out doing things on my own at the moment. Fingers crossed more tests will get to the root of the problem.
Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding. 💚
Hopefully things will settle down soon and I’ll be back to full Lizard vigour dreckly! 🤞
