🐭🌙 The Medium Maileg Mice are back… and they’re ready for bed!

Dressed in their cosiest nightwear, our lovely 33cm Medium Mice have returned, complete with their very own sleeping masks for the sweetest of mouse-sized dreams. 💤

Will you choose comfy pyjamas or a cosy nightgown? Either way, we think bedtime has just become rather more adorable. 🤍

Now all they need is a bedtime story, a tiny cup of cocoa… and absolutely no squeaking after lights out! 🐭✨

We’ve had these beautiful Catherine Redgate Bear With Me Playing Cards at Asquiths for a little while now, and they have become a firm favourite with teddy bear collectors and bear lovers alike. 🤎

Join our cosy Asquiths Teddy Bear Making Workshop this September/October and learn to create Otto, a traditional jointed mohair bear, made entirely by hand. 🧵✨

Guided by the wonderful Sasha Kleshcheva, a local Teddy Bear artist and our resident Bear Doctor—you’ll learn traditional bear making techniques over 4 relaxing Wednesday evenings.

Meet Merrythough Winnipeg, inspired by the real Canadian black bear who lived at London Zoo and captured the heart of a young Christopher Robin Milne.

Christopher Robin loved Winnie so much that his own teddy bear – originally called Edward Bear – was renamed after her.

That childhood bear would go on to inspire A. A. Milne’s beloved Winnie-the-Pooh stories and today, the original teddy resides at the New York Public Library.

Merrythought’s own Edward Bear is a beautiful recreation of Christopher Robin’s original teddy, while the new Winnipeg pays tribute to the real bear behind that famous name.

Lovingly handmade in England from the softest jet-black alpaca plush, Winnipeg features a fawn-coloured muzzle, embroidered paws, lifelike eyes and the most wonderful expression.

✨ Limited to just 1,926 individually numbered bears worldwide – representing the year Winnie-the-Pooh was first published
Each Winnipeg is presented in a pure cotton dust bag with a Certificate of Authenticity.

A remarkable piece of literary history, beautifully brought to life by one of England’s most treasured teddy bear makers. 🇬🇧🐻

🌻🐻 Our bears have been busy admiring the beautiful sunflowers popping up around Henley ahead of the Festival of Sunflowers this Saturday, 8th August.

There’s something rather special about a town filled with sunshine-yellow blooms, bringing smiles wherever you look.

If you’re out and about this weekend, keep an eye out for the spectacular sunflower displays and, who knows... you might even spot one of our bears stopping to admire the view. 🌻

So whether you’re looking for bears, admiring the blooms or simply soaking up a little sunshine, we hope these golden giants brighten your day.

After all, every bear knows that happiness grows where flowers bloom. 🌻

We couldn’t decide... Puppy Tic-Tac-Toe? 🐾 Puppy Connect Four? 🤭 Or a quick chorus of “How much is that doggy in the window?” 🎶 In the end, after much deliberation (and absolutely no self-control), we decided the only sensible option was... a great big cuddle! 🤎

Meet the wonderfully floppy dogs from Teddy Hermann. Made from beautifully soft, swirly plush with gently weighted paws for the cosiest cuddles, they’re impossible not to fall in love with.

A fresh gathering of Bertrum Muffett Creations has scampered into Asquiths, and some have arrived tucked inside the sweetest little tins with tiny words of wisdom hiding inside the lids.

Rather wise for someone who could happily curl up inside a teacup. We think these little mice might just have life all figured out.

Lovingly handcrafted in the heart of Cornwall, every Bertrum Muffett mouse and rabbit is stitched entirely by hand with no patterns, no rules, and heaps of imagination. No two are ever the same, each one is a tiny character with a story all of its own.

Now then... which little philosopher will be coming home with you? 🧀🤎

🤎 Meet Boots... one of the bears who stole our hearts.

Some teddy bears are simply old.

Others have lived extraordinary lives.

Boots was made in Germany around 1910 and has spent more than 115 years collecting stories. He was once one of the treasured bears belonging to the late Lieutenant Colonel T. Robert Henderson – one of the world’s most respected teddy bear historians and collectors, and a founding force behind the charity Good Bears of the World.

In 1994, Boots appeared in the famous Christie’s South Kensington auction of Colonel Bob’s collection. Thirty years later, we were incredibly honoured to bring him home to Asquiths after purchasing him at the Teddy Bears of Witney Auction.

Today, this wonderful old bear, complete with his much-loved leather boots and well-travelled journey, sits proudly in our Henley shop, where he continues to delight visitors of all ages.

If you’re ever in Henley-on-Thames, do pop in and say hello to Boots.

We think you’ll fall in love with him just as we did. 🤎
