New data from the Environment Agency this week, and it's not good news for the waters we all fish.
Just 14.3% of England's rivers and lakes have been rated in good ecological health - and for the first time, not a single one has met the standard for good chemical status, largely down to persistent pollutants from sewage, agriculture, and run-off that can take decades to clear.
A reminder of how much work is still needed to protect the waters we all rely on.
