Things are getting spooky at Make-it Happen! Halloween is creeping up on us and will soon be here. Plan some spooky fun for your kids this half term with our Children’s craft workshops.

We have lots of creative craft workshops to choose from, which plushie will they make?
They will learn to hand stitch a halloween themed plushie and make it as scary or friendly as they like!

Getting lost inside a wedding dress!

Today I’m working on this gorgeous beaded, slim-fit wedding dress, which has a beautiful bagged-out hem.

Getting the hem ready to sew means I quite literally have to get right inside the dress… and for a moment, I completely disappeared! 😂

There’s a lot of careful preparation involved before that final line of stitching can be done, especially when you’re working with a beautifully beaded gown.

Every dress has its own challenges, and that’s one of the things I love about bridal alterations — no two dresses are ever quite the same.

Now, back to work… time to find my way out of this dress and get that hem finished! 😆

It’s all in the detail…

Sometimes bridal alterations involve much more than simply taking a seam in or letting a dress out.

This beautiful piece of delicate tulle needed some very careful attention.

When you’re working with such fine, delicate fabric, every stitch matters. It takes patience, precision and plenty of experience to make sure the fabric is handled carefully and the finished result is exactly as it should be.

This is one of those jobs where you really have to slow down and take your time — carefully working with the fabric rather than rushing the process.

I love being able to take on these intricate alterations and use my experience to make sure every little detail is just right.

Because when it comes to your wedding dress, the little details really do matter.

🎉 WE’RE ABOUT TO TURN 6! 🎉

I honestly can’t quite believe that Make-It Happen is about to turn SIX! 🥳

Our story began back in 2020, when Covid was doing some pretty crazy things! 😳

It was during all that uncertainty that I decided to take the plunge and open my first business — Make-It Happen.

Fast forward six years and here we are! ❤️

We’re having such a great time doing what we love, and one of the loveliest things has been watching our Make-It Happen community grow over the years.
