Pop in and check out some of this year's shortlist including bookshop favourites; Jackie Morris's collaboration with Tamsin Abbott, Wild Folk: Tales from the Stones (Chelsea Green Publishing) and The Book of Birds by Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane, (Hamish Hamilton, Penguin Random House).

August is Women in Translation Month (WITM) and readers are encouraged to participate in the following challenge:
1) Read a translated work by a woman from a continent other than your own.
2) Read a translated genre novel by a woman author (e.g. horror, fantasy, sci-fi, romance).
3) Read a translated work by a woman that is not a novel (short stories, poetry, memoirs, essays, plays or non-fiction).
4. Read a backlist translated work by a woman (older or previously untranslated works.

Exciting to meet author today as she tours Wales with her new paperback release The Eights, which we think makes a great summer read! Signed, sealed, delivered! Set in 1920s Oxford which has admitted female students for the first time, it’s a book about friendship, ambition and courage.
