Assistant Technical Manager
This is an opportunity to join the team at one of the largest and fastest growing ornamental nurseries in the UK. Working with our growing team you will influence and shape all of the technical aspect of the business including water quality, growing media, pest and disease control, technical staff development and our drive towards sustainability.
Responsibilities
Plan and oversee crop protection and herbicide programmes.
Take responsibility for biological control programmes.
Maintain and improve hygiene standards.
Oversee technical training and development of growing team staff.
Conduct regular pest and disease crop walks.
Maintain accurate record keeping for compliance with quality management systems.
Ensure water and growing media testing and monitoring.
Conduct crop protection trials and evaluations.
About You
Level 3 or higher qualification in an agricultural, horticultural or biological sciences subject.
Excellent knowledge of crop protection and biological control products.
An understanding of product authorisations for ornamental crops.
Experience in commercial production of ornamental crops, or willingness to learn.
