Ever wondered what happens when you first step into the forge?

Once everyone’s geared up with safety specs, we start with a quick health & safety talk before one of our blacksmiths shows you the first steps of forging your chosen piece.

Here’s one of our blacksmiths demonstrating those first few steps, how to hold the hammer, work at the anvil and start shaping hot metal before everyone has a go themselves.

For most people it’s their first time in a real working forge, so we keep it relaxed, hands on and easy to follow from the start.

Another brilliant team building day in the forge this week as we welcomed the team from Howdens to Oldfield Forge 🔥

The group spent the day forging their own knives from scratch before heading over to our wood workshop to craft and handle their blades, turning raw steel and timber into something completely unique.

There’s something special about stepping away from the office, working with your hands, learning new skills, and creating something you’ll actually keep long after the day is over.

A huge thank you to the Howdens team for bringing the energy, teamwork, and plenty of laughs throughout the day 👏
