We have a few hundred books all bagged up and ready to hide in the shop.

Due to the popularity of our “Book Hunt“ Hide a Book, Find a Book….
We have decided to keep the Book Hunt going all year round. 🙌

We’ve lots of books bagged up and ready to go. We’ve been adding bookmarks, our loyalty cards and stickers to the packs as we go along.

As it stands over 7200 books have now been donated and gone back out into the community. We’ve heard lots of tales of books being hidden by babies and children and dogs, lots of dogs. 🐕🦮🐩
And a lovely lady aged 95 was out hiding books over the February half term.

How it works 👉 We take in donations of second hand children’s books. We inspect the books and make sure they are in tip top condition. We then bag the books up individually and add a book hunt leaflet explaining how the hunt works.

The packaged books are then picked up by our lovely volunteers/customers who hide the books all over Herefordshire to be found by local children.

It’s been a huge success so far and we have received so many photos of smiling happy children with their books.

If you do have some books you would like to donate or alternatively you would like to grab a handful of packaged books to hide. Please drop in to see us at “The Children’s Bookshelf” on Gomond Street in the Maylords. We are open 7 days a week, thank you in advance. 🙏
