Hay Festival 2025 Opening Hours for Richard Booth’s Bookshop. We’ll be open until 6 PM from Monday through Saturday, but our opening hours on Sundays will be the same. These hours will be in effect from 23rd May through 2nd June 2025.

Job Opportunity: Bookshop Assistant - Haberdashery/Craft
Department Assistant

We are looking for a creative individual to join our team. Initially as a general bookshop assistant, with a view to specialising in the haberdashery/cratt department. We offer new and second-hand craft books, fabric cut to order, yarns, various crafting kits and sewing accessories so the ideal applicant will have a keen interest in books and crafting.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a busy retail environment and working as part of a team.

The successful applicant will have good communication and time manageme skills and will be motivated to contribute to improving and expanding our business.

Good IT skills are beneficial for this role.

24 hours a week. Availability to work weekends is essential.

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant Hapus! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Tomorrow (1st March) is Saint David’s Day, the patron saint of Cymru (that’s Wales to some of you), and we have a number of books on display about our land and our language, as well as a beautiful giant Welsh daffodil, made by our resident artist and bookseller Sarah. Come and give us a visit and find out more about this ancient place.
