Today is all about the clean up at home, gathering wood for the fire and clearing the decks for another intake of stock, Saturday however when the rain was lashing down and the skies were grey I created a new window display and organised the shop to show the hand-finished and unique finds already there. I don’t know about you but when you feel pulled from pillar to post with everything you have to do it takes a step back and a deep breath to see the good and the great that was already there.
Needless to say everything in the picture down to the paint on the walls is for sale so if you haven’t been in the shop already please come and see the every evolving shop that is me.

A little insight into the things I collect and treasure at home.
Throughout summer I watched the bees whizz in and out of this hive and then all of a sudden all were gone and it had dropped to the floor, laid redundant for me to find - what inspiration we can find from these creations, nature at its best - I find nests of all different kinds, bones on the hill walks so sculptural I’d take them back to my Dad who equally enthused would sketch them seeing figures and interactive sculpture vastly upscaled.
The teddy is one of three kept from my boys childhood all dotted around to raise a smile.
Next time you are out don’t just look at the fields and the sky but take time to dawdle, breathe, be grateful, hold onto the innocence and joy of your inner child.

Mirrors, mirrors everywhere- Do we look, do we dare, what reflects back at us as we stand and stare?
Mine is a face once full of doubt now with clarity and conviction to stay true to myself, my business,its presentation and presence in a book town with so so much more. Finally I have glazed the mirrors to line the walls varying in age from the eighteenth century to mid nineties all I guarantee completely unique, hand painted, hand carved, hand moulded - could you ask for more…. No doubt that’s a yes and I’ll raise that smile with one wider and brighter, I raise to the challenge so come on in and see what I have to adorn your walls, rooms, and gardens; I can even tell you a true story to everything I have sourced. I’ll show you more mirrors in the coming weeks and how renovations are taking place to give one more floor.
