Preparations are well underway for the St Michael’s Hospice Fireworks Spectacular.
A pyro‑musical display takes many hours of planning, design, and choreography, long before a single firework is fired. Every cue, colour, and effect is carefully matched to the music to create a seamless show.

On top of that, there’s the physical set‑up: rigging equipment, laying out the site, wiring hundreds of cues, and ensuring every element meets our strict safety standards.

We’re incredibly proud of the Sky Candy team who pull all of this together. Their skill, dedication, and passion are what make these displays truly special.

🎆 FIREWORKS UNDER THREAT – PLEASE HAVE YOUR SAY! 🎆

The UK Government is currently consulting on major changes to firework regulations – and if you enjoy fireworks, whether at home, at organised displays, weddings or community events, now is the time to make your voice heard.

The proposals being considered include:

❌ Further restrictions on fireworks available to the public
🔇 Reducing the current maximum noise level from 120dB, potentially as low as 90dB
🚫 Adding further types of fireworks to the list of products banned from sale to the general public

These changes could have a significant impact on the fireworks people are able to buy and enjoy in the future.

We completely support safe, legal and responsible use of fireworks. We also recognise that fireworks are not enjoyed by everybody and that consideration for neighbours, animals and the wider community is important.

But we believe responsible firework users deserve to have their voices heard too.

📢 THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO OBJECT TO FURTHER RESTRICTIONS.

You don’t need to work in the fireworks industry and you don’t need to be an expert. Members of the public can respond.
