h. Art Week at Hawthorn Gallery

As many of our regulars will know, these sketches have been a familiar sight pinned to the back wall of the gallery, where they’ve been used as working drafts for Barry’s finished pieces.

For Hereford Art Week, we thought it was time to give them a moment in the spotlight.

These original working sketches are now being offered for sale — and we’ve even had a couple of them framed, because we think they deserve to be seen properly!

A rare chance to own a little piece of Barry’s creative process and the story behind his finished work.

Many people think we only sell jewellery... understandable really, as that's
what catches the light in our windows.

Step inside though, and there's much more.....

You'll find locally made chocolates, soaps and candles, pottery, woodturning, massive selection of cards, framed paintings, prints and a wide range of gifts, all created by talented makers and artists.

If you haven't looked beyond the windows for a while, it might be time for
another browse.

We are very excited to announce that acclaimed printmaker Ian Phillips will be exhibiting his beautiful multi-block woodcut and lino prints with us over the Hay Festival and throughout the summer.

Created in his Mid Wales studio, Ian’s work captures the wild beauty, atmosphere, and ever-changing character of the Welsh landscape.

His prints will be exhibited alongside the evocative ink works of our resident artist, Barry Martin-Andrews, whose paintings celebrate the mood and atmosphere of the Welsh landscape.

Join us to experience two distinct artistic interpretations of Wales — rooted in place, atmosphere, and a deep connection to the landscape.

We look forward to welcoming you
