For our next two Spoken Word nights (13th & 29th October) we’ll be joined by special guest poet Michael Isaacs
Michael is a deaf poet from Ramsgate who began writing in 2019 following the loss of his mum, Lesley. His work champions hidden disability awareness, drawing on his own experiences of deafness, Crohn’s, OCD and ADHD.
A multiple poetry slam winner, Michael was runner-up in the 2024 Kent Poetry Slam Grand Final and won the Sunrose Utterance Slam in 2025. He’s also the editor of Seen, an anthology exploring hidden disabilities and conditions.
Michael will be sharing some of his writing on both nights — and you can too! Come along to listen, share your own work, or simply enjoy an evening of brilliant spoken word.
