These impressive Italian marble obelisks date to around 1910 and stand at an extraordinary 102cm high. Made from beautifully figured Portasanta marble, each is supported on a sphere of contrasting Rosso Antico marble, creating a striking combination of colour, pattern and scale.

Monumental, decorative and impossible to overlook, these are the kind of pieces that could completely transform a room.

Dating to circa 1820, these exceptional Campana urns are carved from beautifully figured Swedish Blyberg porphyry, an exceptionally hard and highly prized stone that was used for royal and aristocratic interiors across Europe.

This fine late 19th/early 20th-century envelope card table, made by Lampre of Paris circa 1900, combines finely figured plum-pudding mahogany with exceptionally delicate ormolu mounts.

The ingenious envelope-form top twists open to create a generous playing surface, while the gilt-bronze decoration, from the edging and corner rosettes to the finely cast drawer handle, adds just the right amount of ornament.

Inscribed Lampre of Paris, the celebrated firm exhibited at the Paris Expositions Universelles of 1878 and 1889, receiving bronze medals on both occasions.

This magnificent Italian satinwood centre table, circa 1830, is most probably by Henry Thomas Peters of Genoa, one of the leading cabinet makers of his period.

The beautifully figured, book-matched West Indian satinwood top sits above a striking quatreform base, with acanthus-carved scrolled rosewood legs terminating in lion’s paw feet on brass castors.

A superb example of Regency-inspired Italian furniture, combining exceptional materials with remarkable construction.

A Powerful Regency Library Armchair, England, circa 1830.

With its wide proportions, imposing presence and beautifully carved winged lion monopodia arms, this exceptional European walnut armchair has an almost throne-like quality.

Upholstered in Rosie Uniacke moss cotton velvet, it combines Greco-Roman influences with the Renaissance Revival style of the 1830s.

An almost identical armchair is illustrated in English Furniture 1500–1840 by Geoffrey Beard & Judith Goodison.
