✨ It’s amazing what you find in your own stock room! ✨

We’ve had a little rummage through ours and discovered these beautiful hand-painted wooden chests of drawers, tucked away since the days when we were still trading under our old name, Wild Flower Trading.

They’ve been patiently waiting for their moment… and we think that moment has finally arrived! 💚

Since bringing the business together under one name, closing our Wild Flower Trading website and (finally!) finding Emily a little more time after a very busy summer, we’re delighted to say that these gorgeous little pieces are now available in store and online.

Perfect for keeping jewellery, treasures, trinkets and all those little things that deserve a home, each one has its own character and charm.

🌙 New Fox Under The Moon cards 🦊

We’re very happy to have expanded our range of Fox Under The Moon cards, created by the wonderful Stacey McNeill in collaboration with one of our favourite card suppliers, The Art File.

A little Fox Under The Moon story… A couple of years ago, after we’d all been trading at the same Christmas Fair, Stacey and her husband Jamie kindly offered to take me out for a drink. Stacey told me the very exciting news that she was going to be collaborating with The Art File — and I was absolutely over the moon! 🥰

We already loved Stacey’s beautiful, thoughtful designs, and we’ve long been fans (and stockists) of The Art File too, so it felt like a very perfect pairing.

If you haven’t come across Fox Under The Moon before, Stacey’s work brings together beautiful woodland scenes, a little fox and a wise old moon, with gentle words about friendship, hope, love, grief and getting through the difficult bits. Cards for when you want to say something meaningful, but can’t quite find the words yourself. 🌙

🌿 A little announcement from us…

It’s been brought to our attention that our pop-up newsletter sign-up on the website hasn’t been working properly. The good news is… it’s now fixed! 🎉

And while we’re talking about newsletters, we thought we’d clear up a couple of things about the 10% off your first online order…

The discount is for your very first online order with Olive & Myrtle and is for online use only. It isn’t a general discount code to use in the shop. We have now changed the text on the pop up form to make this clearer.

You may also notice that not everything you see in our little Bellingham shop is available to buy online. There’s a reason for that. ❤️

We work with lots of incredibly talented local makers and stockists, many of whom create one-off pieces. We work with these makers on a sale-or-return basis, and we simply don’t have the time (or the practical ability!) to photograph, upload and manage every single piece they make.

And then there’s Emily… 👀

Olive & Myrtle is a very small business, and Emily is very much a one-woman show behind the scenes. Alongside the shop, she runs the website, accounts, social media, emails, online orders, wholesale relationships, sourcing, buying, stock management and staff organisation, spreadsheets for stockists, cashing up, shop cleaning, inventory stock take… and probably several other things she’s forgotten to mention! 😂

We’re not a big company with a huge team behind the scenes. We’re a small independent business trying to make a living while also supporting the many, many talented people who help make Olive & Myrtle what it is.

So please be kind. ❤️

One of the brand new designs of stud earrings coming along to Falstone Border Shepherds Show and The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre this weekend 😍...

Created by professional polymer clay artist and owner of Olive & Myrtle 😃 Emily of Supremily Jewellery uses an ancient millefiori technique where canes of oven baked modelling clay are sculpted, rolled and stretched to form intricate and unique kaleidoscope patterns, flowers, spirals, blends and so much more!

Emily has been creating for nearly 17 years, has sold her work all over the world, at music festivals up and down the country including Glastonbury and has had her work featured in Vogue Magazine.

Come and start your collection (or add to it!). As always, you can also find Supremily creations in the shop and on our website. All stud earrings are hypoallergenic so perfect for sensitive ears and metal allergies 👍

We're excited for our next batch of trading events coming up! Starting with Falstone Border Shepherds Show just 5 minutes from home...then the very next day we'll be back at The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre for our favourite pitch. Beginning of September sees us trading at Wolsingham Show for the first ever time. Hope to see may of you there! 😃
