A superb vintage haute couture brooch designed by Max Müller. An influential mid-century German costume jewelry designer based in the Kaufbeuren-Neugablonz region.
Intricately structured spray featuring clear marquise (navette) and circular faceted crystals. The five prominent teardrop glass pearls suspended at the bottom create fluid, elegant design. The brooch is also set with two interlocking crescent moons. It measures 6cm x 5cm. In lovely original condition.

Highly regarded for his high-end craftsmanship, he regularly produced exquisite statement pieces for top-tier Hollywood film stars—such as Marlene Dietrich and Sophia Loren. A statement multi paste stone and white metal dress necklace. A beautiful fringe design crafted with a combination of vibrant coloured paste stones and intricate metalwork. The centre of the necklace features a prominent pear-shaped yellow droplet pendant, bordered by smaller decorative gems. Moving outwards, the necklace is adorned with a colourful array of cushion-cut stones, including bright green, deep purple, light lavender, and brilliant sky blue, all linked together by detailed floral in a silver setting. A prominent polished gold-tone camellia flower pendant sits at the centre, adorned with the interlocking CC logo in its middle. Beside it hangs a contrasting silver-tone star charm. Marie Ghiss was an exclusive boutique designer operating in London during the late 1980s and 1990s, known for producing high-end, statement-style vintage costume jewellery. Their pieces often featured dramatic, heavy gold plating, black enamel work, and baroque or Renaissance-inspired aesthetics, crowned with their signature royal crest branding, as seen on the presentation cloth. These are beautiful and unique Vintage Marie Ghiss London 925 sterling silver gold plated statement earrings, c. 1980s with deep purple glass spheres and gold glass drops. A cluster of cabochon glass beads and gold beading to the lobe.

These are rare and highly desirable earrings.
They measure 5cm in length and have clip backs in 18ct gold plated silver. Signed with the Marie Ghiss signature.

This beautifully bound book is The White Feather; Or, Small Beginnings and Sad Ends. Published by the Religious Tract Society during the mid-to-late Victorian era (roughly between 1860 and 1878), it belongs to their highly collectible "Little Dot" series.

Victorian children’s books like this were structured as "moral tales". The story explicitly uses a religious and moral narrative to teach working- and middle-class children intrinsic societal values, such as the dangers of small moral lapses ("small beginnings") leading to ruinous spiritual or social outcomes.
The cover is in lovely condition, the some foxing inside to the pages but it also contains a wonderful little collection of Victorian photos and notes from 1879 from the original owner. £20 including postage.

Sold x A stunning ornate Art deco period vintage Czech bohemian spider brooch. Set with multiple faux turquoise cabochon stones, a highly detailed, textured gold frame with eight elegantly curved legs with intricate scrollwork. The abdomen section is clustered with numerous smaller, round turquoise stones, while a prominent, larger circular turquoise stone sits at the centre of the thorax, mimicking classic Victorian insect jewellery designs. The spider has a fascinating history, rather than evoking fear, spiders were revered as symbols of patience, hard work, and industry (weaving intricate webs). They were also widely considered a charm for good luck and wealth. Some elite Victorian women reportedly wore live 🕷 on miniature gold chains attached to their brooches so the creatures could walk across their dresses. 😱

Antique Victorian Book of Common Prayer – 1866
Sold x A beautiful small Victorian Book of Common Prayer, dating to 1866, measuring approximately 15cm and bound in leather.
The interior is particularly striking, with wonderfully elaborate Gothic Revival illuminated title pages, richly decorated in red, blue, black and gold. The typography and ornamentation are wonderfully characteristic of the mid-Victorian fascination with medieval and ecclesiastical design.
The Book of Common Prayer, published in London by John G. Murdoch & Son, 40 Paternoster Row, with the decorative pages printed by T. Bessent, 29 Essex Street, Strand.
At around 160 years old, the book displays genuine age and wear, which only adds to its charm and authenticity. Its diminutive 15cm size and leather binding make it a particularly attractive piece for display. Fastens with a brass hinge and brass protective corners. £20 including postage.
