Here at The Medal Centre in Hexham www.themedalcentre.co.uk we were unable to do a website update last Wednesday. However the good news is that we have just completed a bumper update this morning with over 60 new items added to the website. It’s a very eclectic mix this week with a good selection of campaign medal groups & gallantry awards. Along with a good selection of single campaign medals from India, Africa, China & Afghanistan. However if none of that fits in to your collecting theme? Then we also have our normal selection of WW1 & WW2 groups & a selection of orders & decorations. We are already working on next weeks update which promises to be another bumper update with lots of interesting & fresh to the market items.

Here at The Medal Centre in Hexham www.themedalcentre.co.uk we have just completed this week’s update of new stock to our website. Once again it’s a very large update with a large percentage of the items on offer this week that are fresh to the market & have never before been offered for public sale. We have Victorian campaign groups & singles, WW1 & WW2 gallantry & campaign groups, WW1 fatal casualty groups & singles with interesting stories. Along with a few more modern items & some WW1 family groups to brothers. Wakefield / Outwood Medal fair Sunday September 6th
Sunday 6-9-2026 is this month’s Wakefield Medal fair. This popular monthly fair is held on the first Sunday of every month (except January) & is open to the public from 8am to 1pm. However I very strongly urge anyone who intends to visit? to come along no later than an hour before the fair closes.
The fair is fully booked with a good selection of dealers & promises to hopefully offer something to enhance most people’s collections.

However the good news is we have just completed a very large update this morning & will be doing another large update next Wednesday. Almost every item this week is fresh to the market & has never before been offered for public sale. It’s a really good mix of items this week from single Victorian campaign medals & groups through to WW1 & WW2 gallantry & campaign medal groups. Along with a smattering of interesting WW2 groups with archives of original documents & papers & a few WW1 pairs & trios. Here at The Medal Centre in Hexham www.themedalcentre.co.uk it has been a very hectic week. Despite our best efforts we did not manage to complete our weekly update of new stock until 4pm today Friday 31-7-2026. However the good news is that in my opinion we have just managed to provide you with a very interesting update with lots of fresh to the market & interesting items of new stock in almost every section & category. My personal favorite this week is the WW2 & Korean war group to the Prisoner of war escaper to a member of the Gloucestershire Regiment who was captured in the regiments gallant stand at Imjin River in April 1951 & went onto be one of only three men from the regiment to be given safe passage back to his own lines by the North Korean forces. Here at The Medal Centre in Hexham www.themedalcentre.co.uk it has been two weeks since we last updated our website with new stock. However the good news is that we have just completed a small but perfectly formed update this morning. This weeks offerings are mainly WW1 gallantry groups in interesting combinations that span service over multiple campaigns. Along with a few single Boer war medals. My personal favourites this week are the Military Cross group to the K.S.L.I & the DCM group to the South Staffordshire Regiment. However I could very easily be persuaded to purchase the RN good shooting medal group to the Royal Marine Artillery. We are already working on next weeks update which promises to have a bit of something for everyone.

Here at The Medal Centre in Hexham www.themedalcentre.co.uk we have just completed a large update of new stock to our website. This weeks offerings are many & varied but include a good selection of WW1 & WW2 Gallantry groups & singles along with a good selection of single Victorian campaign medals & a number of 1982 South Atlantic campaign medals. My personal favourite this week is the WW1 Military Cross (MC) group for gallantry whilst crossing the river Piave in Italy 1918 as awarded to a gallant officer of the 10th battalion of the Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment. He was a resident of Castleford West Yorkshire & initially enlisted in to the K.O.Y.L.I before transferring to the Army Cyclist Corps prior to being commissioned in 1917. Here at The Medal Centre in Hexham www.themedalcentre.co.uk we have just completed this weeks update of new stock to our website. This week has a strong WW1 & WW2 gallantry flavour to it with a good selection of Military Medal (MM) & Military Cross (MC) groups and a good WW2 Merchant Navy M.B.E group also for gallantry with a superb citation. However my personal favourite this week is the large M.S.M group to a Royal Engineers recipient with a two bar GSM. & a three bar I.G.S. We are already working on next weeks update which will have another interesting selection of groups & single medals from all periods.
