This is great news for the Right To Repair (R2R) movement! I really hope they follow through with this!

At present we can only used the highest quality parts (most original) we have tried and tested.

But now this may mean we can put a new screen on a iPhone 13 without having face ID disabled or fitting a new battery on a 11 Pro Max without having a battery message

Apple is launching its Self Service Repair program next year. This will ship parts and tools to customers' homes, allowing them to fix their own iPhones or Mac computers.
