A successful façade transformation is about more than just lighting. It's about control.

For Copper's Soho headquarters, the goal was to create a façade that could seamlessly transition from daytime transparency to a warm, glowing nighttime presence in the heart of one of London's busiest districts.

Working with Speirs Major Light Architecture, Architainment Lighting supplied and commissioned Lumascape Linealux L1 Mini Grazers, integrated with the building's automated curtain control system to bring the vision to life.

The result? A carefully choreographed transformation that combines:
• Uniform illumination
• Consistent colour rendering
• Smooth animation effects
• Precise curtain positioning
• Seamless interaction between lighting and controls
• A comfortable experience for occupants and passers-by

Through detailed commissioning and programming, the building takes on a distinctive character after dark while staying true to the architectural intent.

We're proud to have played a part in creating a façade that enhances both the building and the surrounding cityscape.

Not every project milestone looks glamorous.

This week has involved gathering equipment for an upcoming mock-up and, if we're being honest, creating a bit of a mess in the warehouse along the way!

But it's a reminder that some of the most important stages of a project happen long before installation begins.

Preparing equipment, planning test scenarios and understanding project objectives allows us to deliver meaningful demonstrations that help clients evaluate solutions in a real-world environment. Because choosing a lighting solution shouldn't involve guesswork. It should be backed by testing, expertise and confidence at every stage.

Creating mock-ups and running demos are all part of our commitment to supporting projects from concept and design through to commissioning and final handover.

We'll be sharing some highlights from the mock-up once testing is complete, so keep an eye on our page for updates.

The best lighting projects aren't just about the lights.

Sure, the lights are what people see. They're what get photographed, shared and remembered.

But the real story happens behind the scenes.

It's the conversations, design reviews, site visits, technical challenges, coordination meetings, late-night commissioning sessions and those inevitable last-minute hurdles that need solving before everything comes together.

Great projects don't happen by accident. They happen when creative ideas, technical expertise and a lot of teamwork come together at the right time.

That's always been our approach at Architainment.

Whether we're supporting a project during the design stage, helping with integration on site, or commissioning the final installation, we've never seen our role as simply supplying the lighting.

Because it was never just about the lights.

It's about helping our clients bring ideas to life and creating experiences people remember.

As we get ready for LiGHT26, we'll be sharing more about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making great projects happen, and why that means having a bigger presence at this year’s show.

Lighting the Beautiful Game

England are under the spotlight tonight, and it got us thinking…

In football, success comes down to preparation, precision and having the right conditions to perform. The same is true when it comes to lighting.

Modern LED lighting helps businesses:
✅ Improve visibility and comfort
✅ Reduce energy consumption
✅ Cut maintenance costs
✅ Support sustainability goals

Whether it’s a World Cup stadium, a busy warehouse, or an office environment, the right lighting can make a huge difference.

Just as players need the best possible view of the ball, businesses benefit from brighter, smarter and more efficient spaces.

So, good luck to England tonight. Whether the World Cup comes home or not, switching to LED is one upgrade guaranteed to deliver a winning result. 🏆💡

Celebrating Two Fantastic Milestones 🎉

June has been a big month for all of us at Architainment, with two very special anniversaries to celebrate.

Maggie Norcross marks an incredible 23 years with the company — having been there since day one. Over the years, she’s done just about everything, from shifting stock in the early days to HR, and now leading the business as Finance Director. Her journey is truly part of Architainment’s story, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without her dedication and drive.

We’re also celebrating Steve Lunn’s 12-year anniversary. As Production Manager, Steve leads the team that delivers the high-quality custom enclosures and luminaires we’re known for. His commitment and expertise make a difference every single day.

These milestones aren’t just about years — they’re about the impact people make. We’re incredibly grateful to have Maggie and Steve as part of the team.

Please join us in congratulating them both!

With temperatures rising again this weekend, it’s a good reminder that LED lighting doesn’t like the heat as much as you might think.

LEDs are efficient, but not heat-free. And in many installations, temperature is the biggest factor affecting performance and lifespan.

Common issues:
• Poor heat dissipation from fittings
• Installations in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces
• Drivers overheating behind the scenes
• Low-quality materials that can’t manage thermal load
• High ambient temperatures—especially in summer

What helps:
• Choose fittings with solid thermal design
• Allow proper airflow around lights and drivers
• Select products suited to the real environment
• Consider derating in hot conditions
• Get the installation right from the start

Managing heat isn’t just about protecting the fitting, it’s about keeping performance consistent and avoiding early failures.

With warmer weather on the way, it’s worth checking that your installations ready for peak temperatures.
