Today marks the start of our new chapter as Mike moves down the road to run the brand-new flooring department at Sopha!

If you’re looking for new flooring please do go down and visit him there. Mike will still be able to advise you on the best products to meet your needs and it will still be him who comes out to measure and bring samples. He will still be selling the quality carpets and flooring products that we are familiar with. Even the team of friendly, reliable and trustworthy sub-contractor fitters he uses will remain the same. In fact, the only difference you, our wonderful loyal customers, should notice is the change of company name on your paperwork! And hopefully a less tired-looking Mike as he regains a better work-life balance!

We are so grateful for everyone’s support over the past 10 years and Mike looks forward to being able to continue to assist you all in the future 😊

We have lots of carpet and vinyl remnants and rugs in stock that we need to clear. These are to be sold on a cash-and-carry basis as we are booked up for fitting at present, however we can pass on numbers of local fitters if required.

The carpets would be suitable for small bedroom, study, hallway etc. Vinyls would be perfect for a cloakroom, small bathroom, shed etc. All rugs are ex-display stock.

Please drop us a message with required sizes if you’d be interested, or for further details of any you can see in the pictures. Very low priced at present as we need to clear the space.

Wow, thank you so much everyone for all the lovely comments on our last post 💕 It means the world to us! The fact that so many of you mentioned our quality customer service was so heart-warming as this is what we believe to be one of the most important things we can offer our customers. As you all know, Mike especially is always there at the forefront of M&F and ready to go above and beyond to ensure that we meet all of your flooring needs to the best of our ability.

It is our belief in always providing the best customer service we possibly can that has led us to the decision we have made regarding our next move! As our business has grown, so have the many behind-the-scenes demands of running it. This has put an immense pressure on Mike as, although I have been doing all I can to keep the admin side running and our children have supported in any way possible, he has been working ridiculously long hours to ensure that our customer service continues to be priority (I'm sure many of you will have received emails from him at nearly 10 o'clock in the evening at times!) This is why we felt that it was a good time to accept the opportunity that has come Mike's way.

From later this month, you will be able to find Mike running the brand new flooring sales department just 2 minutes down the road in Sopha! As many of you know, Sopha is also a local family business owned by my brother and sister-in-law. Lots of family discussions have led us to the conclusion that combining our furniture and flooring services would be beneficial to you, our lovely customers, whilst meaning that Mike can dedicate much more of his time to both serving in the shop and visiting customers in their homes to measure up and discuss their flooring needs, ensuring that he can continue to deliver the best service he can. The lovely Sopha team would be able to ease the pressure of managing orders and organising your fitting. I will also be able to return to my original career of teaching, opening up my new local tutoring business.

We hope that you will all continue to support Mike in this exciting new move, so that he can continue supporting you with your flooring needs 🥰

This month marks 10 years since we first opened the doors of M&F Carpets and Flooring … and what a decade it’s been!

We started our journey in our little shop in Abingdon Street in Burnham, with just a tiny storage area at the back and supported by two sub-contractor fitters. Within a couple of years, our business had grown to the extent that we really needed more storage space and a dedicated area for carpet preparation and so we took on a unit in Highbridge alongside our shop. This worked well for us, but meant Mike spending lots of time driving between the two so in 2021 we took the opportunity to move our business into the former Brandon Hire premises in Church Street, Highbridge.

This is where you’ll still find us! Our business has flourished in the last 10 years. We have moved from the support of just two fitters to now having a fabulous team of 7 to call on. Our children are all now young adults and all support us in different ways behind the scenes.

Above all, we are so grateful for the support of all of our wonderful, loyal customers over the years. We have not had to advertise as so many of you have been kind enough to recommend us to your family and friends. We wouldn’t have made it to where we are today without the support of each and every one of you 💕 However, we are now so busy that Mike now spends more time working than anything else! So, after lots of thought and discussion we have decided on some big changes to come. Watch this space over the next few days for further details.

Today we are celebrating World Environment Day.

Here at M&F Carpets we work hard to be mindful of our carbon footprint.

One of the ways we do that is by selling off-cuts/remnants.
Due to how our manufacturers work, we can only order in certain size cuts and subsequently there is often flooring leftover after fitting. Instead of wasting those pieces we offer them at a reduced price for those smaller rooms such as bathrooms or offices; or they can make a perfect cost effective solution for a caravan.
