Hopefully finally managed to sort out the running issues with the faller mammuthohle kit . Original drive assembly is absolutely shocking . Not surprised the models never run right . So taken moulds of the original track ...assembled and fitted 2.4 metal bead chain ( didnt work) so tried 3.2 metal chain . And hey presto it pulls thru the entire track just fine ....what its like when attached to the drive motor assembly, maybe a different story but as it stands its looking pretty good 👍. Hopefully a running video will be posted in a few weeks ....hoggies new residents has started .

Now that I have finished with building layouts for others due to the expense of it all ....hoggies posts /reals will be of my own personal build as it progresses. Next year taking time out from it all in preparation to move my entire collection back home . Full garden overall with a brand new home for hoggies . The odd post will appear as the fairground models are been built .

.brand new N gauge layout now completed. Layout housed in its new casing . All running extremely well and smoothly . Now to arrange delivery to hopefully one happy customer 😀

. Not posted for few weeks, been extremely busy ... for those that have been following from the beginning. The casing which will be housing a 6ft x 3.3 n gauge layout is finished. Tomorrow the layout will be inserted and connected up . Hopefully time to have a little runaround with a few locos .

Mammuthohle cave update ....good day in the office , redesigned the ghost train track , all looking extremely good so far . 1mm x 4mm magnetic rods to be fitted to the cars . Once all track is completed, I will be making moulds of all the track then casting using transparent blue epoxy resin . The running of this model hopefully will be 1000% better than in its original state . Been tedious at times but will be well worth it .

After 3 months of trying to get this model running correctly and smoothly, I have decided to pull it apart and totally overall the drive set up . The original is absolutely diabolical . As in the photos , I have changed the chain to an all metal chain . But in order for it to run correctly it has to follow a central line as with a roller coaster . A little trail has proven it will work ....and with help a new designed drive wheel is going to be designed and made . The cars will have magnets fitted to them to replace the stupid plastic pick ups . Which actually throws the cars off the track using the original plastic cord bead chain . .

.6.6ftx 3ft DCC layout finished . All working a treat . Turnouts all programmed and numbered . Little test run (all good) . Now on to finishing the cabinet for it to be housed in . 😃
