And rather surprised to pop on the page to see that there's still 2.3k followers 👀

World chocolate day got me thinking how much I miss the work & the people 🤎

No doubt looking at the price of raw materials right now it was the right decision but part of my heart remains with business - even my new colleagues call me chocolate lady 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hopefully the market will recover somewhat with a decent crop next year not just for the hope of a future return (!?) but for many businesses who use chocolate products too 🤞

This nugget who keeps me busy aside from current work is coming up to 14 months & will shock many as where does time go 🫠

ＧＯＯＤＢＹＥ

As many of you well know, I wasn't sure if I'd be coming back to business after maternity & the sad news is that I won't be 🥺

It's an absolute disaster zone for the world of chocolate right now as callebaut have announced a rise from £9.53 to £11.66 per kilogram therefore, it is simply not viable for me anymore 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm over the moon to share that I'm heading back to the laboratory to join our wonderful NHS no less 👩‍🔬

I can only thank you all for all the love and support over the years! 😘

As I prepare for the baby turning one... I'm reminded it's over a year since I wrapped up the shop for maternity leave 😱

Also, whoever created the idea of mounting an egg on a chocolate bar is an actual genius - it wasn't me but I should've also done this before 😅

Here I am, amongst the three rather handsome chaps in my life 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

I had to share a family one, this is recent & all you mum's out there probably know you hardly ever make the front of the camera 📸

Currently on maternity with the littlest, The Cocoa Chemist was born 4 years ago in the midst of sleepless nights & inability to carry on working a full time industrial chemist job 💤

I have a beautiful following of customers who fast became friends 🤎

𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚

Flies when you're having fun (sepsis, dirty nappies and night wake up calls not included!) 💤

Two months since this little mite arrived - no chance for any casual chocolate making yet 🍫

Thank you to all the lovely people who have reached out since I finished for maternity, my mental health is fairly intact this time and perhaps that's why 🧠

Raw chocolate ingredients are set to increase 7% again next month again making me question viability to return... 💔

If I don't however, I'm still hoping once my maternity ends I can make a big batch of goodies pre Christmas as a last homage - keep them eyes peeled 👀
