💀🩸 Blood Angels inbound! Just finished this squad of 10 Infiltrators for a customer. I do love the dynamic sculpts of these models although I'm always worried about snapping the little antennae off!

I sunk a solid 40 hours into this commission, including build time (about 8 hours with full mould line removal and polishing etc.). I'm interested to know how long others have taken to build and paint the same? Let me know in the comments.

One more commission to finish and then I will be focusing on the backlog of models to go up on the webstore (www.wargamewares.co.uk). It's been a busy few months and stock is running a little low at the moment.

🐀 Back in the workshop and just finished up this Clan Rictus Clawlord for a customer. 🖌️ The glowing green effluent around him was a joy to paint, and I pushed the rust effects on the sword to really sell that grimy, battle-hardened look.

Commissions are closed for a bit whilst I finish up a large backlog of models for the webstore. We've recently discounted all of our inventory and there will be a lot more coming over the coming months so make sure to check out our offering at www.wargamewares.co.uk. Now with free RM Tracked 24 postage as standard on all orders.

I also revisited streaking grime for the first time in ages—perfect for capturing that dirty rat vibe 😄 OSL (object source lighting) continues to be one of my favorite techniques, and I’m pleased with how the glow turned out here.

What do you think of this piece? Let me know in the comments!

I remember little me staring at this model in the Games Workshop in Hemel Hempstead every time I went in (every weekend) back in the late 90s.

Before I got back in to the hobby I had to sell all my old Chaos models to help pay bills. I've slowly been replacing those models in the last couple of years... and maybe adding a few extra that little Adam wanted (like this one) 😅

20 something years later... I think it's time to paint this bad boy! 💪

Yesterday, my apprentice and I focused on improving her basing skills. She was eager to try her hand at the lava bases I recently painted, as well as experiment with ice bases and a few others. I must say, she did a fantastic job!

To top off our day, we held a little "Golden Demon Award Ceremony." She won three times and her acceptance speech was truly memorable: "Hello. I am the best painter in the World. I used Green, Blue, and Gold. Thank you." 😅

I finished the second model in the Salamanders commission last week. This Lieutenant has been sneaking around the (brightly lit? 🤷‍♂️) lava field, managing to bag a few bugs along the way. I tried to create a lava effect that looks like molten rock flowing between the two floating rock islands, which was a fun challenge.

Painting the arm carapace has me wanting to finish my Hive Fleet Kraken models now, but there never seems to be enough time! I hope you enjoy this one.

It’s heating up in the Wargame Wares studio! 🔥 I've just finished up this Salamanders Primaris Captain for one of our customers, complete with glowing hot lava sword and set on a lava fields base. I really enjoyed adding texture to both the sword and the base, bringing them to life!

Next up, I’ll be working on a Lieutenant for the same customer. Stay tuned for more!

***HEAVY INFANTRY RESISTANCE ENCOUNTERED. DEPLOYING REDEMPTOR ASSET... RESISTANCE DECREASING."

Excited to showcase my latest commission for a customer’s Blood Angels army! ⚔️ This customer is a regular, having previously purchased matching units from our website, and it’s always a pleasure to paint for them.

I had fun bringing the glowing hot barrel to life and working on the base with some fantastic Gamers Grass bits! 🌱 This model will be deployed in a game next weekend under their new commander.

Next up, I’ll be diving into a small Salamanders commission complete with lava bases, swords, and all sorts of glowing elements. Stay tuned for updates!

Last night, I took a break from commissions to paint something for myself! 🎨 I decided to try the underpainting slapchop (smashchop?) method from Ninjon, and I’m really pleased with the warm tones it produced. The backpack pieces came out the best, while the cloaks could use a bit more work, and I still need to tidy up the base rim.

I learned a lot for next time! I think I’ll prime/base coat the model in dark purple and use more Sienna Ink—less red for sure. I can definitely push the highlights further and bring back more saturation without losing the underlying tones. It’s all about finding speed/contrast paints that balance good saturation with transparency. The flesh and brown tones worked best for me, but I found the lighter green and purple a bit tricky to move around, even with speedpaint medium.

I also got to use one of my new laser-cut plants! 🌱 The base looks a bit odd because it originally came on a shallow base, so I glued it onto a 28mm base for more substance and filled in the gap with putty. I might cover it with texture paste next!

Hope you enjoy this one!

Here it is—the final model in the Deathwatch commission: a Ballistus Dreadnought hailing from the Blood Angels chapter! 🎉 I pushed myself to try some new techniques with the base, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. I've been watching a lot of diorama and terrain videos and have even more plans for future models :)

I’m loving the new laser-cut plants and tufts I recently got in. They add such great detail! I already have a plan for some of the others I have in the next Blood Angels commission I’m about to start (lots of Space Marines in my lineup, haha). Stay tuned for more updates!
