Before we pass the baton for Green Blue You to the wonderful Ed and Ros, Sarah and I wanted to post one last time to say thank you to all our customers and share a few pics from over the years.

It was close to six years ago that we first discussed setting up a business together, with the aim of helping people to make more sustainable choices in their daily lives and to make it easier to do so. And, it was five years to the day on the 24 April 2021, that we made our website live. The excitement of getting our first order stays with us today!

To start with, we did all our rounds by bike, covering many miles in a day. A year later, we were much busier, which was great, but our refill round stock had outgrown our bicycle trailers. It was time to invest in a van which allowed us to scale up!

We did many pop ups. Starting in the then Histon Smokehouse, where the team there had built these amazing stalls, using re-purposed pallets in their car park, as a way of supporting small businesses as we emerged from lockdown. We did events in all our villages, from farmers markets to summer fairs to Christmas events.

We have processed almost 10,000 orders, and done almost 14,000 refills of varying sizes. That is a HUGE amount of plastic that, together, we have saved and a HUGE amount of product used that was made with the environment in mind. Not to mention the 1000s of other low impact products that people have bought from ethical companies that are trying to do the right thing.

Our community of customers has been amazing and we are not just saying that. It has honestly been a pleasure dealing with so many lovely people, and we will really miss our doorstep chats and our friendly email exchanges. From being understanding when we made mistakes, to offering help when we needed, our customers have kept us going.

A special thanks to Jack at Jack's Gelato who helped Green Blue You when we needed it. One business helping another - that's what community is! We will support Jack's by eating ice cream! We are also immensely grateful to our families and friends for being with us on this incredible journey.

We hope you will support Ros and Ed as they take Green Blue You into it's next chapter and that you will continue to get refills and help the business go from strength to strength. Exciting news! Many of you will already know that Sarah and I are stepping back from Green Blue You this month. We are so pleased to announce that Green Blue You will be taken on by local couple Ros Hathorn and Ed Benn whose first refill round will be Histon and Impington on Tuesday 28th April. Do look out for them to say hello.

Ros and Ed hail from Impington and have over 20 years experience working as local artisans. With their commitment to sustainability, their community ethos and their business experience, we think that Ros and Ed are the perfect fit for Green Blue You and we are delighted they are taking it on. We really hope you will support them as much as possible as you continue on your refill journeys!
