A sad day on the High Street today.
Rickmores shut its doors for the last time.
No plaudits, no fanfare.
There were no awards for 'long service' or pats on the back for all the years working 6 day weeks, during which they helped make Hoddesdon not only 'vibrant' but viable.
Afterall, its the permanant, dedicated, rate paying businesses, shops and eateries that make the town a 'destination' 365 days of the year.
Overcoming all of the hurdles that are put in the way of running a small, independent business is particularly worthy of a 'lifetime achievement award', so... Thankyou, Well done and Good luck in your new location Rickmores, you'll be missed.
