Our shops will be much quieter. Yesterday, we lost our shop companion, Cricket. After a morning of splashing at the harbour and a ride in her favourite van, she passed away suddenly when she got back. At only five years old, we feel we lost her far too soon. If you’ve seen her in my van, you’ll know how vocal she was about her love for being there. It was the only thing I couldn’t seem to train out of her, and I eventually came to accept that she would wail with excitement every time we headed out. The silence is certainly felt at the moment. Take her vocals aside, and I’m not sure we could have asked for more from her in the last five years.
I’ll miss our morning walks, her welcoming teethy smile, her caring temperament, and her loyalty. 🐾
