Very sad to say that Peak Footwear has now closed its doors for the last time.

This was one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make.

I wanted to create a community shop for like minded people and encourage people to get outside, this is something I am proud to say I achieved over the last six years. Like nearly all independent shops it was never about making lots of money, it comes from a passion for the outdoors and wanting to help people to get out in nature hiking, walking and trail running.

But it’s tough out there for the independents and the cost of living crisis, a government that takes just that bit too much, the cost of everything soaring just makes it so tough for small businesses. Sadly the improvement works going on in Holmfirth and the drop in income because of it just proved to be too much.

I want to thank every single one of my customers that went out of their way to support independent, often travelling from all over the country to visit us and an extra special thank you to all our regulars you gave me so much joy and I will miss all the chats and hearing of your outdoor adventures. To David , Amanda and Danny who worked alongside me for your professionalism dedication and all the laughs over the years.

And last but not least to say a heartfelt thank you to my wonderful suppliers that always treated my little shop with the same respect they would the big players you were a joy to work with.

Thank you and continue to support independent they need it more than ever.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER UPDATE.

We currently are not able to access the shop due to an incident on Huddersfield road, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and it looks like it will be closed off all day.

Small businesses like ours depend heavily on Saturday trade and this is a big blow for us and other businesses in Holmfirth. Please come back and visit us another day your custom means a lot to us. Open as normal on Monday . If we are able to open the shop later today we will let you know.

We have said it so many times but we adore our customers they often have great stories to tell of their adventures like this incredible women Ursula Martin she went on a 5500 mile trek across Europe from Wales to Ukraine she then wrote a book about it and is now walking from lands end to John o groats stopping at bookshops in between to do talks on her book. She is talking this evening at .holmfirth at 7pm they may have a couple of tickets left if your quick! Ursula left with a pair of our favourite merino wool socks from Moggans socks for her epic journey she also knew about the benefits of merino wool.

Everyone is feeling this, so we’ve come together as a group of local businesses to try and get the message out there to our beloved customers and people of Holmfirth to keep fighting the fight, one day soon it will be over and our town will hopefully come out stronger! 💪
