I always keep fabric scraps "just in case" turns out that I was hanging onto them just in case a global pandemic ripped through the country causing face coverings to become mandatory in UK shops. Who knew 🀷. Anyway, I'm super happy with how this face covering has turned out using and lined with unbleached cotton β™₯️ I've used tee shirt yarn for the tie (made from fabric offcuts which would ordinarily be disposed of). I find the stretch in the jersey yarn makes it comfortable to wear.
Pattern is from craft passion, it's free for anyone to download, I will not be making these to sell.
If you can wear a washable face covering instead of a disposable one, please do.

Hello good people of Instagram and Facebook! It's been a while! This afternoon we ventured out to the for a couple of drinks and, I have to say, it's one of the best pub experiences I ever had, so quiet and clean πŸ˜†. I love all the plants at the bar and being used as table dividers.

The last few weeks have been a struggle. I wouldn't say we're doing a lot of homeschooling, but just having the kids at home is an enormous drain on my time and ability to think about anything! I've been getting desperate to get the kids back to school and have some time to myself to sew, but it turns out that we just needed an hour at the pub - it has done us the world of good 🍻.

With regards to sewing - I don't know when I'll get back to it, maybe September if the kids go back to school full time, maybe January if there is a second wave. Who knows? I would love to be back at the sewing machine, but with the kids all day and my husband's workload going through the roof, who knows when I'll be able to do anything meaningful in sewing terms.

Hi everyone! It's been a trying couple of months since my last post. Orders have slowed down, which is completely understandable given the current circumstances. I am going to complete my final order and then shut up shop for the time being. Homeschooling is my number one priority at the moment 🀯 and I am turning the sewing room over to making scrubs and wash bags. We need to look after them so they can look after us.

It's not goodbye, it's ta-ta for now. Rosie X

When you forget your reusable coffee cup - "I promise I'll bring it next time!"

We've had a great half term, but I'm glad to be home.

A few of my favourite treasures seen today , amazing!

And if you have a few bob spare you can pick up a replica Tutankhamen death mask for a mere Β£25k, a bargain for your tastefully decorated living room. Honestly though, well with seeing.

Aaand today I learnt that Tutankhamen's mum and dad were also his uncle and aunt and his wife was his first cousin 😬 bet that made Christmas fun.

(PS. Nobody fell over on the tube todayπŸ‘)

I've closed my Etsy shop. I've been thinking about it for a while now and gave myself until the end of January to get the listings rewritten and more stock added, but it hasn't happened. There may be a time when I decide to reopen the shop, or try selling on a different platform, but for now the shop is closed. I will still be working on wholesale orders and take orders through IG and FB messages! It's just that Etsy does not seem to have worked for me. Rosie x

Having a major reorganisation here this week, moving my work space from the ground floor and into the attic spare room, it's a bigger space with better light, but I'll miss my garden view from the ironing board! I'll be able to sew here without bothering other humans πŸ™‹

Thought I'd share a couple of photos before it gets flooded with all the stuff I'm hanging onto 'just in case' . Of course the cutting edge iPod dock is already installed πŸ˜† playing some classic Beck (soy un perdedor!).

Funerals - I've been to a few, young ones and old ones, from close family only to packed rooms with people standing at the back, pasty and a pint with a walk on the beach or prosecco and vol-au-vents at the golf club, MC Hammer to Deanna Durbin with Pavarotti and Procol Harum in-between. I went to my first friend's funeral at 17 and today I went to my Grandma's, funerals are all so different, but each one stays with you and leaves it's mark. Rosie x
