This highly decorative majolica base features a wonderfully elaborate design, with winged creatures forming the supports and beautifully coloured glazing.

It is currently paired with a substantial 19th-century copper tray, creating an unusual and impressive decorative piece.

A real statement for an interior, and one that deserves a closer look to appreciate all that detail.

Autumn in glass form!

We couldn’t resist photographing these gorgeous colours — a mid-century cocktail/water set in glowing amber, comprising the jug and six tumblers.

Beautifully autumnal, wonderfully retro, and frankly making us wonder whether it’s too early in the day for a cocktail… We seem to have a bit of a theme running this week!

These glorious glasses can be found in Shaun and Helen’s section on the first floor, here at Fountain Antiques.

Following on from yesterday’s White Horse post, we’ve now found the perfect drinking vessel!

And yes, Dear Reader, that is actually a full-sized hay cart in the background. (We wish!)

This amazing w**e glass can be found in Caroline’s section at the front of the ground floor.

Cheers! 🍷

Happy Monday!

We’re back in the saddle (groan!) and ready for another busy week in the shop, surrounded by antiques, vintage, retro and generally lovely things!

And if all else fails, we’ll follow the White Horse and have a stiff wh**ky.

This beauty is currently stabled on Neil’s shelf, adjacent to the main counter on the ground floor.

Pop in and say hello — we promise to rein in the horse jokes. 😬

Well, you don’t see this every day!

We couldn’t resist this wonderfully characterful bird currently keeping Mickey Mouse company in Paul’s cabinet in the front room of the shop.

One of the joys of wandering around Fountain Antiques is never quite knowing what you’ll spot next — from silver and ceramics to the quirky, colourful and downright unexpected.

We think these two make rather excellent cabinet companions!

Two absolutely stunning antique French marriage domes have been added to Brian’s area of the shop today.

One features the most delicate and detailed porcelain flowers, while the other is adorned with an extraordinary collection of service medals, ribbons and gilt decoration.

Beautiful pieces of French history — and definitely ones to stop and take a closer look at when you’re next in the shop.

A quick visit and cabinet top-up from Mark this lunchtime!

Some beautiful, colourful pieces have arrived, really brightening up his cabinet at the front of the shop.

There’s a wonderful mixture too — glass, ceramics and decorative pieces, with plenty to catch the eye.

Pop in and have a closer look next time you’re passing — you’ll find Mark’s cabinet right at the front of Fountain Antiques.

Swimming into Marilyn and Simon’s area is this splendid papier-mâché mackerel!

Quite what he’s doing out of water and hanging around amongst the antiques, we’re not entirely sure — but he seems very pleased with himself.

If your home has been crying out for a mackerel (and whose hasn’t?), you know where to find him.

Pop in and have a browse — there’s always something unexpected bobbing up at Fountain Antiques!

These two magnificent horse heads are currently standing guard in Margaret’s area on the ground floor at the back of the shop.

They’re certainly impressive, wonderfully decorative and, we can confirm, absolute heavyweights!

Do make sure you explore all the way to the back of the shop when you visit us. You never quite know what is stabled back there…
