🎃🖤 OUR OPENING DAY IS HERE! 🖤🎃

The wait is nearly over! We’re delighted to announce that C&L Aquatic, Reptile and Pet Centre will officially be opening next Saturday, 31st October — Halloween! 🐠🦎🐭

We can’t wait to welcome you all through our doors and share this exciting new chapter with you. To celebrate, we’ve got a few special things planned for our opening weekend!

🦉 A SPECIAL FEATHERED GUEST

Our good friends Mark and Naomi will be joining us from 2pm onwards with owls, giving you the opportunity to see this beautiful bird up close. Definitely not one to miss!

🎨 A COLOURING COMPETITION FOR THE KIDS

We’ll have specially designed C&L colouring sheets for children to take home and enjoy. We’ll also be sharing the colouring sheets on our social media pages for anyone who can’t make it along on opening weekend.

We’ll be running a competition for the most unique and creative entry, with a prize up for grabs! You’ll have until Sunday, 8th November to submit your finished drawing.

🐠 AN UPDATE ON LIVESTOCK

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to sell any livestock until our licence renewal has been completed. We wanted to open our doors and welcome you all as soon as possible, rather than keep you waiting!

We’re hoping to have some livestock in store for you to come and see, and we’ll keep everyone updated as soon as we hear more about the licence inspection, which we’re expecting in early November.

First dry scape display tank is finished, it’s the SuperFish Start 150 Tropical along with all the SuperFish tanks we’ve got on the shelves, we’ve got a back order as well as a few was out stock on the first delivery - they should be arriving next week.

Also waiting on Fluval, should be arriving next week also, I’ll also be setting up one of their aquariums has a dry scape.

Can’t wait for you guys to see this all, will be posting our opening date tomorrow! Keep your eyes peeled!

𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 🤍 | 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒

Since moving to Honiton, where I live, we’ve been overwhelmed by the love, kindness and support we’ve received from so many people. I’m also incredibly grateful to everyone who has put in long hours, worked after hours and given up their days off to help get our shop ready as quickly as possible. It really means so much to us. ❤️

With that in mind, I want to do my bit to support the amazing independent businesses we have here in Honiton and the surrounding areas, and I hope we can all support one another along the way.

Recently, I’ve visited Honiton Hardware and A1 Print and Stitch to get supplies to help prepare our shop, and we’ll also be using A1 Print & Stitch for our new uniforms which I can’t wait for. I’ve already picked up some of their business cards to display in our shop, and I’d love to do the same for as many other local businesses as possible!

✨ Here’s what I’d love to offer:

📍 A dedicated space near our till where we can display business cards from local independent businesses.

📍 If you’d like to create a small poster showcasing your business and the services you offer, I’d be more than happy to display that alongside your cards, too!

📍 And, of course, if you have a shop or business where you could display our cards, we’d love to support one another in return.

📍 Think either once a month or once a week, I’ll take a photo of that board and tag socials / websites.

With the way things are in the UK at the moment, I truly believe it’s more important than ever to shop local, support small businesses and help each other grow. Every little bit of support can make a real difference, and sometimes simply spreading the word about another local business can go a long way.

Our first big delivery for the aquatics side! We’ve got two pallets of Superfish products as well as around 20 aquariums! More to come next week 😅

𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐔𝐏

The electrics and plumbing we needed doing are now finished ✅ Just some carpentry work left for some of the racks missing the light covers.

Some tanks unfortunately cracked on the move but we have brand new ones arriving Thursday along with the rest of the stock needed for them, I will be starting on the aquariums Thursday, I cannot wait! And do not worry, the old ones in the video are yet to be cleaned 🫣 but we have gone all out for best quality of life of our fish from us to your aquariums.

✅ All new lighting for every rack
✅ All new sponge filters (our tanks are also individually filtered, prevent of disease spread and all round best for the quality of life for every fish)
✅ All new heaters
✅ All new substrate
✅ All new decor
✅ Shrimp / Betta sections
✅ Larger Cichlid sections and more..
✅ All new artificial decor will be going around the aquariums for a jungle look

We really look forward to you guys seeing this all done!

I met up with Colin from Creature Comforts, the pet shop in the town centre this morning for a coffee to talk over ways we can help each other out as well as you guys!

As a lot are aware we have stopped selling Dog, Cat and Bird foods and accessories - but Creature Comforts in town sells all of that! So if you were previously using us for those products, please do pop up to them in town. As you can see in the photo, they’re only a short walk away from us.

Fish lights are in! Just going round this morning getting them all connected and Monday onwards I can start working on getting the fish tanks up and running!
