Have you always admired beautiful herbaceous borders but aren't sure where to start? Join us for our Perennial Border Design Day Course and learn how to create a colourful, long-lasting border that will thrive year after year.

Led by Sonia Elton, Head Gardener at the Walled Garden Baumber, this inspiring one-day course will cover:
🌼 Choosing the right plants for your space
🌿 Designing a border with year-round interest
📐 Planning the perfect layout
🌱 When and how to plant for the best results
✏️ All design materials provided to take your ideas home

🎄 Workshop Hosts Wanted for Our Christmas Make and Take Day! 🎄

Following the fantastic success of our last Make and Take Day, we're delighted to be bringing it back with a festive twist!

On Saturday 5th December 2026, The Walled Garden Baumber will be hosting a Christmas Make and Take Day, and we're looking for talented workshop hosts to join us.

We're inviting local artists, makers, crafters and creators to run festive workshops and inspire visitors with hands-on Christmas-themed activities.

✨ What we provide:
• Tables and chairs
• A dedicated workshop space
• Promotion of the event across our social media channels

✨ What you'll do:
• Manage your own bookings and attendees
• Run your own workshop session(s)
• Workshop spaces are just £15 per session

As this is a Christmas event, we'd especially love to feature festive-themed workshops, such as wreath making, Christmas decorations, festive floristry, seasonal painting, candle making, pottery, sewing, jewellery making, and much more.

With only 4 workshop spaces available, we'd love to hear from you if you'd like to be involved.

Thank you to all those who supported LIVES by purchasing a Dahlia 🌼 at the Walled Gardens.

The display has now moved on but you can still purchase a Dahlia from their website in dedication to a loved one using the link to their post below.

As our Forever in Bloom display comes to a close, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to Baumber Walled Garden for hosting this special tribute over the past month.

The beautiful setting provided the perfect place for hundreds of handcrafted dahlias to honour loved ones, reflect on cherished memories and celebrate lives that will never be forgotten.

Thank you, too, to everyone who took the time to visit the display, dedicate a flower and support the lifesaving work of LIVES. Your kindness and generosity mean so much.

Missed the display? You can still become part of Forever in Bloom. Our handcrafted dahlias are now available through the LIVES online shop and can be delivered directly to your door, allowing you to dedicate a flower in memory of someone special while supporting our volunteers and clinicians.
