Meet the Team: David! 👋🌱

Next up in our meet the staff series, we’re excited for you to get to know David, one of our Supervisors here at the Centre!

David has been a key part of our team for almost 3 years now. Here is a little insight into his day-to-day life and what makes him tick:

💬 What’s your favourite thing about working here?
"Everyone works really nicely together, and we always have a good laugh."

📋 What does an average day look like for you?
"It varies a lot depending on the season! It usually involves a mix of garden and on-site maintenance, processing logs, and running various errands."

🍽️ Favourite meal?
"Tuna steak with sautéed potatoes."

🏍️ What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
"Riding my motorcycle, playing computer games, and getting out into the garden."

We have some lovely new items available in our shop!

Our talented service users have been hard at work making beautiful handmade cards and gorgeous decorative bottles with lights in them. They’ve done a brilliant job and they look fantastic.

Handmade Cards: 50p each

Light-up Bottles: £3 each

They are all available in the shop now, so do pop in and take a look next time you are visiting. Every purchase goes directly toward supporting our service users and the centre! 🌟🛍️

🚧 Road Closure Notice 🚧
Please be aware there is currently a road closure at the bottom of Blendworth Lane, expected to be in place until the beginning of August.
If you’re planning to visit us, you can still reach us via the following diversion routes:
➡️ From Havant Road:
Follow the diversion via Rowlands Castle Road and Pattersons Lane.
➡️ From the A3 (southbound):
Take the Blendworth exit onto New Barn Farm Lane, then continue via Crabden Lane.
We recommend allowing a little extra travel time while the closure is in place.

We recently received some lovely feedback from the parent of one of our service users, sharing how the centre has supported her son over the last 40 years.

Hearing how much of a difference the centre has made over four decades means the absolute world to our team. We were so touched by her kind words that we wanted to share them with you all.

🍔 Sunny Smiles & Summer BBQ Vibes! 🌭
On Friday, 3rd July, we finally got together for our highly anticipated summer BBQ, and what an absolutely fantastic afternoon it was!

Our amazing service users had a brilliant time relaxing, catching up, and enjoying some well-earned treats in the sunshine. ☀️

Mark and Trish were busy testing out a couple of brand-new BBQs this year—and we are very happy to report that the new grills passed the taste test with flying colours!

We are so incredibly proud of all the hard work our service users put in day in and day out—you all truly deserved this treat!

Today, we are incredibly proud to introduce a true cornerstone of our community—our amazing Assistant Manager, Liz!

Liz has been an integral part of the centre for an incredible 36 years. If you’ve ever visited us, chances are you’ve seen Liz hard at work keeping things running smoothly.

The 'group' interaction. Watching them grow and develop into amazing people with large individual personalities.

🌻 Important Nursery Update! 🌻

Tomorrow is our last Saturday open of the year! If you’ve been meaning to grab those weekend plants, or just fancy a Saturday stroll through the greenery, this is your final chance for 2026.

📍 This Saturday's Hours: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

🗓️ Our New Hours Moving Forward
After this weekend, we will be transitioning to our autumn/winter schedule and will be open midweek only. Come visit us during the week to get your garden fixes:

Monday – Friday: 9:30 AM – 3:15 PM

Saturdays & Sundays: CLOSED

A massive thank you to everyone who has spent their Saturdays with us so far this year! We’d love to see you one last weekend time, so pop by, say hi, and let's get your garden sorted for the season ahead. 🌿
