Went last year and it was a fabulous night!

This weekend the band will be performing one of its biggest and most popular concerts of the year. The Last Night of the Proms concert will take place at the Floral Hall in Hornsea on Saturday 26 September starting at 7.30pm. Stirring tunes, a fantastic vocalist, talented soloists, music to suit everyone and a very British prom style finale, what more could you want? Get along, see East Yorkshire's premier military style concert band, and enjoy one of the best nights of entertainment on the East Coast

CALLING CERAMICISTS & ARTISAN MAKERS
We’re making a little room at Number Nine, The Marketplace as part of our 3rd business birthday refresh and would love to hear from talented independent makers who feel their work would sit beautifully within our artisan gallery in Hornsea, East Yorkshire

At the moment, we’re particularly interested in applications from:
Ceramicists & Potters — decorative or something wonderfully different
Woodturners & Woodworkers — beautifully made, original pieces with a strong handmade feel

Number Nine is home to a carefully curated community of independent artists, designers and makers, with work available to buy from our physical gallery alongside regular promotion through our social channels.

We’re not looking to simply fill shelves. We want to introduce our customers to interesting, well-made work and the people and stories behind it.

Please note: we already have a wonderful selection of jewellery and artwork within Number Nine, so we’re not currently accepting applications from jewellers or painters / artists. This is simply to protect the variety of our existing artisan community and ensure we don’t oversaturate particular categories.

A season of creativity is coming to Number Nine…

Our September–December workshop programme is filling up with some brilliant opportunities to slow down, learn something new and spend a few hours being creative at Number Nine, The Marketplace.

And there really is something for everyone. Whether you fancy getting your hands into clay, working with plants and natural materials, discovering a traditional craft or picking up a paintbrush, our workshops are designed to be friendly, relaxed and suitable for beginners.

Over the coming months you can discover:

🍂 Autumn Watercolours with Jayde Marr Art– embrace those gorgeous seasonal colours and create your own autumn-inspired artwork.

🏺 Seasonal Clay Hand-building with Alison Peacock Ceramics – get hands-on with clay and create characterful seasonal pieces, with glazing and kiln firing included.

🧶 Peg Loom Weaving with Hawcroft Handmade – discover this wonderfully relaxing traditional craft using natural wool produced by their own sheep at Atwick.

🌿 Seasonal Kokedama with Botany Boutique – create your own living moss-ball display using plants specially chosen for the season.

🎃 Succulent Pumpkins – combine plants and creativity to make a fabulous seasonal centrepiece.

🌿 Seasonal Wreath Making – from rich autumn foliage through to festive winter greenery, create a natural wreath completely unique to you.

🎨 Christmas Bottle Painting with Jayde Marr Art – bring along a bottle and give it a wonderfully festive transformation, as well as painting a coordinating glass.

🎄Watercolour Christmas Cards with Jayde Marr Art – make four beautiful hand-painted cards to send to someone special this Christmas.

🌹 Paper Flower Making with Sophie’s Paper Flowers – including our new full-day workshop experience, with just six places to ensure plenty of one-to-one support.

We deliberately keep our workshop groups small, creating a welcoming environment where you have time to ask questions, learn from your workshop leader and actually enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

They’re perfect for coming along on your own, spending time with friends, celebrating a birthday or special occasion – and workshop places also make a fabulous experience gift for someone who would rather make memories than receive more ‘stuff’.

With workshops running throughout September, October, November and December, now is the perfect time to start planning a little creative time for yourself.

A full day of paper flower making is coming to Number Nine - We’re really excited to welcome Sophie from to Number Nine for our first full-day creative workshop.

If you’ve ever admired Sophie’s incredibly realistic paper flowers and wondered how she creates them, this is your opportunity to spend a whole day learning directly from Sophie.

During this relaxed Paper Rose Workshop, Sophie will guide you step by step through creating your own beautiful paper roses, sharing her techniques, skills and knowledge along the way.

This really will be a small and personal workshop. We’re limiting the day to just SIX places, giving Sophie plenty of time to work with everyone individually and provide the right level of one-to-one support throughout the day.

Event Details:
10am to 4pm | £95 per person
All materials and tuition provided, plus lunch is included.

With a full day together, there’s no rushing. You’ll have time to immerse yourself in the process, learn at a comfortable pace, enjoy plenty of creative conversation and leave with your own handmade paper roses.

Not familiar with Sophie’s work yet? We definitely recommend popping over to Instagram and following . Take a look through her creations and you’ll quickly see why we’re so excited to have her joining us at Number Nine. It’s quite incredible to think that those beautiful flowers are actually made from paper!

This would make a wonderful gift, birthday experience or creative day to share with a friend, or simply an opportunity to treat yourself to some proper time out to make and learn something new.
