A little mountain magic for the golfers who dream of the upcoming ski season. ⛷️ ⛳️ 🏔️

I’ve got something rare, a sleeve of three hard-to-find Courchevel 1850 golf balls, sourced in winter through a special connection at Radio Courchevel . You won’t stumble across these in a pro shop. Want in?

I know a LOT of our customers and followers golf like me, so tell me the one golf course that owns a piece of your heart, and why.

And if you’ve ever played golf in the mountains, share that story too. I’ve been lucky to play Kaprun in Austria plus Pertisau literally in the mountains, and still am trying to find time to play Golf de Courchevel which sits on several of the ski runs anyone who has skied 1850 will know well… there is a reason one area to ski in is called Golf Zen 🙂

Come and work with us this winter 🎿

We’re looking for a new Winter Sports Showroom Team Member to join us for the 2026/27 ski season.

This is a seasonal role running from October to early April, working alongside our showroom, workshop and ski boot fitting teams.

You don’t necessarily need to know the difference between a piste ski and a powder ski on day one. We can teach you the technical side.

What we really need is someone who:

Enjoys helping people
Is calm, organised and methodical
Communicates clearly by phone, email and in person
Notices when something needs doing and gets on with it
Works well in a small team during a busy winter season

The role includes:

- Helping customers in the showroom
- Answering telephone, email, website and chat enquiries
- Booking ski and snowboard servicing work in and out
- Supporting customers before and during ski boot fitting appointments
- Processing special orders and checking supplier availability
- Restocking, pricing and keeping the showroom looking its best
- Making awesome tea for customers and team members

The usual hours are 10am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility available for the right candidate. The role is available for up to 40 hours per week.

We are a Living Wage Employer, with pay dependent on experience and paid holiday accrued.

In return, you’ll work in a genuinely specialist business, meet a wide range of customers and learn far more about ski boots, skis and human feet than you ever thought necessary.

Independent businesses supporting independent businesses. ❤️

Today we swapped ski boots for pizza dough. We eat enough of them when skiing so it was time to learn how to make our own!

We spent the day at The The Artisans' Kitchen
learning the art of making authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, and what a fantastic experience it was.

The day wasn’t just about making great pizza (although there was plenty of that!). It was about learning from people who genuinely care about their craft, paying attention to the details, and creating an experience that customers remember.

As a small independent business running bespoke courses ourselves, we know just how much effort goes into delivering something special. That’s why we love shining a light on other businesses that do exactly the same.

A huge thank you to everyone at The Artisans Kitchen and to Sally and George (+Bonnie the labrador) for making us all feel so welcome.

Donna, one of our customers has just pulled the trigger on this great looking and superb all-mountain skis, the VÖLKL Mantra 84W with a new colourway from Look Bindings this season - titanium green.

AI helped us put the two together, but we cannot wait to see this in the flesh. Performance, durability and control are what we need from skis of cours, but looking this good is a bonus!

So once we did our year end stuff, we popped down to Tignes for a few days to test skis from Elan Skis - the new ACE series is stunning, Nordica skis with the new Doberman Multipista a RED HOT carver and of course Extrem Ski Co with the all new Factory 96 still my firm favourite. Most of the team coming down with a gastro virus can’t replace the good times, and our farewell to Clare who has been with us almost from start as she goes off to a well-earned retirement. The “Clare’s Au’Revoir Tour” is complete and we all made it home in one piece if some of us feeling a bit battered thanks to the virus!

HUGE thanks to Elan, Nordica, Extrem, Smith, Carv, Cardo Systems and DaleBoot for creating products we have great fun testing!

And THANK-YOU Clare - you will be missed!!!
