I haven’t done much sewing lately but I did make this beautiful dress for my aunties birthday party 🎉
I mostly self drafted this dress and I documented the process on my YouTube channel.

The fabric is a crepe back satin from 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙗𝙤𝙬 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙨

My last minute entry that I almost forgot to post 🤦🏾‍♀️ Yvette

I got this fabric from Wasted Fabrics some time ago and didn’t know what to make with it until I came across the by Helen's Closet

I made a size 12 but lowered the back and added a frill to the hem. I probably could’ve sized down because the dress has on oversized feel but I wanted it for a beach coverup and to feel cool during these heatwaves and think it works for that

Once again I didn’t get a proper picture of my make 🤦🏾‍♀️ Here is my entry!
I had this satin in my stash from with the view of making a summer dressing gown.
I came across the free pattern from and it was perfect for what I wanted.
Unfortunately I really did not enjoy sewing up this make 😔 the fabric was not the nicest to work with! I used french seams throughout which also made it a little more time consuming than anticipated but I’m glad that I persevered and got it finished 😊

It’s reveal day!
I started this make back in November but due to thread issues I only just managed to finish it
This is the by and for such an involved make, Helen’s instructions make it so easy!
The outer fabric is a sandwashed cotton from and the lining is cotton from
I love how this make turned out and can’t wait to get some wear out of it in the autumn ☺️

I finished this Saturday Skirt Set by Friday Pattern Company last night and it’s already made it to the grid 🙌🏽
I’d made this before so it was a pretty quick, straight forward sew for me and Friday Pattern Company instructions are always great!
