So sad to hear of Dolly’s passing this evening. Just going to say this - in a world of division, negativity and angst, be more Dolly. The woman was a powerhouse of creativity and kindness. She gave away more than 300 million books through the Imagination Foundation and was by all accounts a thoroughly good person, supporting numerous good causes but more importantly treating everyone with respect and love. Genuinely sad to hear the news but absolutely certain she’s headed up not down 😇

Last full week of our Summer opening hours - Tuesday-Friday, 10-5 each day 😄
Did you know we have 2 different session times?
The morning (10-12.30) is aimed at families with primary school aged children who need a shorter session 🎨
In the afternoon we have one 4hr session for adults and teens who need a longer session to properly relax and paint (with a drink and cake obvs) 🎨 🍰
With apologies, we only have the afternoon session on BH Saturday - short-staffed so we can’t do morning and afternoon. Highly recommended booking this one in advance as it’ll be busy 😬

So wonderful to see so many happy young people celebrating their GCSE results today. Congratulations to everyone that did well, love and hugs to those that didn’t get what they were hoping for.
It was another bonkers busy day today so I’ve not had a chance to reply to any messages or emails, I’ll try to catch up tomorrow. Out at the Storyhouse in Chester tonight for the Choir of Man show. No idea what to expect but it looks like fun! 😊

Bit wordy - bear with me!
Can I take the opportunity to explain how a deposit works - there’s a little confusion amongst our painters.
When you book a table online, you’re asked to pay a deposit. £10 for a table for 2, £20 for a table for 4.
THAT DEPOSIT IS DEDUCTED AGAINST SPEND ON THE DAY ie it’s taken off your bill at the end of your painting.
When it comes to the payment page there are 2 options. 1 is to pay in store (manual payment). If you pop in to book and want to pay cash or card, that’s for you 👍
The 2nd option is debit/credit card. That’s for everyone else.
If you choose Manual payment, you’ll book without paying a deposit. The booking system will flag the booking for cancellation and send a pay Link by email so you can pay online - we’ll follow up with a text to let you know.
We’ve had a few people lately who want to pay the deposit when they arrive. That’s not the point of a deposit. We introduced a deposit in Oct ‘25 when our no-shows were off the scale. Since introducing a deposit we have maybe 1 or 2 no-shows a week. Down about 95%!!!!
Does that make sense? 😳

Not gonna lie, the last week or so has been bonkers busy. Celebrating our 20th birthday. How utterly doolally is that?! The mad idea to give away 100 solar eclipse glasses as a little thank you (turned into a marketing genius level way of filling the studio - that was never my intention 😳) Eddie also gave away about 120 mini malteser tiffins which went down very well 😋 Thank you to everyone that painted with us, wished us well, brought cards and flowers and wine and cake!!!! Love you all 🥰 😘 🥰
Today was just as mad busy - and we weren’t giving away anything other than our gratitude that so many people want to paint and have fun!
We have tables available for the rest of the week, bookable online. We are grateful each day to each and every one of you for supporting this small business and keeping us going 🙏🙏🙏

Not quite welly weather but we did see a drop of rain on the way in to work this morning! ☔️ 😃
We’ve got 2 kilns to empty today but no space left on the shelves - if you’ve had a text to collect your pottery, we’d hugely appreciate it if you could pick up as soon as you can 🙏
We know lots will be away on holiday (jealous!) but if you’re home and you could pick up, we’ll be hugely grateful ☺️

Ok, we might be a bit far away from Clacton for anyone here to paint BinFace but I just love this!!!
(We also have our fair share of pottery that would not make family viewing. Not here to judge! 😂)

Love the variation in pottery in any one session…imagine what we see over the course of a month, some of it unprintable!!
