Last ever 'make'
Today, I've been prepping the machine for its new owner to collect, and I couldn't not make one last memory....
This will be going with us to our new home. Something to ensure that the days of KOKO won't be forgotten. It's part of our story, a piece of our patchwork and a memento of adventures had.

There is a light.....that never goes out.
Hey squares, how are you? As you may know, I'm away on holiday with my gorgeous girls and we're having a blast!
I've purposely gone AWOL from the grid, but this evening calls for a special announcement. My machine has sold today and is officially closed for business.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and every one of my customers. It's genuinely a chapter of life I'll never forget. I'm so glad I had the chance to be my own creative business and there's absolutely no regrets. I've made so many friends through this creative community. I've been able to spend so much time with Tilly in her formative years and the whole experience of 'family first' has become my sole compass in life.
It's time to sign off now. I salute you all. Keep on keeping on xx

KOKO!
Hey squares! I'm signing off from all things cutting and engraving. I figured my last make should be a message to everyone who has supported me over the last 2 and half years or more. It's been my mantra for years, it gave me my business name and I'll live by it for ever more...
Thank you to everyone who has been part of my story. I'm gutted it doesn't have another chapter for KOKO, but I'm sure it's going to be another adventure for Team Brown. Me, and will be having new adventures and making new memories.

Full circle....
My very first KOKO order came from who bought a scandi style Christmas tree from my Etsy shop. Since then I've supplied Jane with other pieces and have even transformed her free motion stitched Robin Into a wooden tree decoration. Today, Jane is possibly my last customer, so I've come full circle!
We're popping off on a short holiday next week and I'm expecting my machine to be sold soon, so it's likely that on my return I'll not be making any more orders. Enjoy the rest of the weekend... I'm off to pack!! 😎

Kaleidoscope...
This picture by the very 'braw' put me in mind of looking through a kaleidoscope... It's probably one of my favourite IG pics I've ever come across on these squares and it's extra special as I helped Sarah create the wooden stems! I've met so many talented people over the past few years sailing on the good shop KOKO and all their creativity is a complete kaleidoscope of themes and styles. I may be dropping anchor, but please don't let any more fab small businesses hit the rocks, please please give them a fair wind and enjoy the voyage with them....

Collaboration...
Hey squares... It's a pretty busy weekend here at KOKO HQ, as a flurry of orders after my closure announcement filled up my job list. Much of my time today will be spent on this repeat order for . She's one of my regulars and I'll be disappointed when our working partnership comes to an end. I have helped Jo bring her weaving kit idea to life, and I'm so proud of the fact that I've now lost count of how many I've made for her. Head over to her grid, and you'll see them in action in her workshops.

Not becoming at all....
Hi squares, and anyone else who maybe watching... Thanks for all the love on my previous post about me closing down. There's something else I need to point out too.... It's been brought to my attention that another account holder is now approaching my customers. Ok, it's a free market, but it's pretty sneaky to be picking at the flesh of a business when they're still on their knees. It's not cool, or becoming, in fact it's pretty s**t. So anyway, that's off my chest. I am not recommending anyone for future cutting services, so if you are approached, they're not coming with my endorsement...

I'm selling up!...
Hey squares, I'm bringing you news of big changes in casa Brown. As you may know from my previous posts, is no longer my full time job. Due to a number of factors beyond my control my business is no longer able to produce enough turnover to replace a full time employed salary. I therefore chose to find paid employment earlier this year.
Since I changed direction my work/life balance has become work/work balance and this is not healthy or fulfilling. Something has to give, and unfortunately as self employment doesn't guarantee money for bills and food, I'm sticking to the paid employment path. This means I'm selling up. I'm currently taking steps to sell my laser machine, chiller and filtration system. I'll most likely be using a popular online market place to do this, however, if anyone would be interested in acquiring a cared for laser cutting set up before I list it online, I'm more than happy to receive direct enquiries. I will be selling the following items;

Find harmony in the negative spaces...
Life can be tough - especially at the moment, and many of us have found ourselves in a bad place mentally. I know I have. It's been very emotional let's say... But we move forward. I'm so lucky to have as together we push and pull each other along. We help one another see a positive in among the negatives... Not always easy or straightforward but we keep on keeping on. Yesterday I was cutting a batch of flower stems for and these are the spaces left behind - the negative cuts. They may be negatives but I think there's a certain beauty to be seen if you look closely enough xx
