I would just like to take a few minutes of your time if I may….

I joined Lindley in 2014, and very soon felt part of it…

One thing I always love to do if I can, is to give something back - however small it maybe.

So in 2015 I created the Love Lindley page, along with organising the street fairs at Christmas and one in the summer (with a help from some other shop owners too).

In the 7 years I have seen so many things along with meeting some gorgeous characters too…

Remember May - the elderly lady who lived near the charity shop, who’s every other word was a swear word…

I remember whilst painting the front of my shop, she came along and said… “what you gonna be?”

“You will have to wait and see” was my reply..

“Nar, your gonna tell me”… she maybe of been small, but you never messed with May…

Then one who touched my heart, was Mark…

He was a gentle man, who lived a simply life smoking, having a tipple and loved to visit the shops and having a chat…

I remember when he came in wanting to know if he bothered me…

No I told him, good he replied as you put a smile on my face and a spring in my step…

You see having a shop is not all about taking money, it’s about been part of a community.

And I have had 7 years.

But my time has come to move to pastors new, and as I open the door to my new chapter in The Piece Hall, I thank Lindley for all it has given, and I hope I have a little something back to you…

Someone else will take over this page from me, but I wanted to thank you for your support…

But I ask you a favour too if I may….

Use your local shops, because we need you as much as you need us…

May I ask you a question...

When was the last time you went shopping in Lindley?...

Did you know you high street needs you more than it’s ever needed before.

We are slowly coming out of lock down, and although we still must take care, we need to support our local businesses.

Would you miss them if they closed?

As sayings go, “oh I’m so sad that shop has closed!”, well did you shop in there when it was open?.

Having a street full of shops needs the locals to support it.

We live in a world that has become very throw away, don’t let that happen to your high street.

There are some fabulous businesses there, and next week we will see the cafes, bars and restaurants open again.

But lindley has so much to offer...

From beauty and hair salons, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Gary the butcher, hop beer shop to a Lindsey Fine Wines that they will advise you on the best cut of meat, to the perfect wine or beer to complement it.

Need underwear or a special outfit, the you have sunflowers, Dress 4 less, Pure and minx.

Card or gift, then Lindley Gifts, Manjo Home or Occasions will assist you at find that perfect gift.

The Children’s bookshop is the place to go to get them little monkeys off the screens.

The flower shop will fill your home with colours and fragrance.

You can then call into Hartleys for your bread, then pop into the larder for a yummy sandwich, need milk or a paper? Then Soor’s or Aslam’s will help you...

SEE....

See what you have.

Look after your high street...

Shop local and forever Love Lindley ♥️

We need your help...

A workman left last night around 6pm a blue Mikita bag full of tools, outside the flower shop on Lidget Street.

If you picked it up, or know whom did, please may we ask if you could drop it off at either the flower shop or Manjo home.

He has been working on the Larder (opening soon)

Thank you 🙏
