We offer a Home sample service, where we will come to you and measure up bringing the samples to the comfort of your own home.

Six years in… and the showroom is getting a bit of a makeover 👀

We haven’t changed the flooring in our showroom since we moved in six years ago, so we thought our anniversary year was the perfect excuse for a refresh.

The team are tackling it bit by bit every Wednesday while we’re closed, replacing discontinued ranges with new, current products that you can actually see laid before choosing them for your own home.

And the flooring isn’t the only thing changing… there’s some new Feature branding on the way too. 👀

Six years of Feature Interiors 🥂

Although we’re celebrating six years, the Feature story started long before that.
Antony began as an apprentice carpet fitter before buying his first van at around 20 and going self-employed. A few years later came the Milnsbridge shop, followed by blinds after one question kept coming up on jobs: “Do you know anyone who does blinds?”

Dave later joined the business, taking the lead on blinds, curtains and shutters, and then came Lindley and Feature Interiors as many of you know it today.

Since then, we’ve fitted everything from single bedrooms to full new-build developments, schools and commercial spaces. There have been countless rolls of carpet, herringbone LVT, made-to-measure blinds, early starts, busy vans and plenty of cups of tea along the way.

There have also been new faces, memorable jobs and plenty of changes… with another big change now coming to Feature HQ!

So we’ve dug through the camera roll to share some of the people, jobs and moments that have made Feature what it is.

To everyone who has visited us, recommended us or trusted us with their home over the years, thank you. 💜

Throwback Thursday 🏫

A little throwback to one of our summer holiday projects at Golcar Junior School last year.

With the classrooms empty for the holidays, it was the perfect opportunity for our team to get in and give the flooring a much-needed refresh, ready for pupils returning in September.

For a busy school environment, practicality is just as important as appearance. We fitted durable carpet tiles designed to cope with plenty of daily footfall, with the added benefit that individual tiles can be replaced if they become damaged or worn.

A simple upgrade, but one built to handle busy classrooms for years to come.

A thick carpet isn’t necessarily a hard-wearing carpet. 👀

It’s easy to walk into a showroom, feel a carpet and assume that the thickest or softest option will be the one that lasts the longest. But there’s much more to consider.

The fibre it’s made from, how the carpet is constructed, its suitability for the room and even the underlay underneath can all affect how well it copes with everyday life.

A carpet in a spare bedroom, for example, doesn’t need to deal with the same level of foot traffic as your stairs, hallway or family living room. Choosing something suitable for the space is just as important as finding a colour you love.

And don’t overlook the underlay. A good-quality underlay provides cushioning and support beneath the carpet, while also helping with comfort, insulation and noise reduction.

The key is finding the right carpet for YOUR home, rather than simply the most expensive one.

A great LVT finish starts long before the LVT goes down. 👀

We’re on a job in Lindley where the customer had already removed the old laminate, leaving us with a blank canvas.

Before we can start laying the new LVT, getting the subfloor right is essential. The team have installed 12mm backer board, cemented it into place and applied a 6mm screed over the top, creating a smooth, solid surface ready for the new flooring.

It’s the preparation you don’t always see in the finished photos, but it can make all the difference to the final result.

Next step… the LVT. 👌

This floor could have cracked if we’d fitted what the customer originally asked for. 👀

When these customers first came to us, they were considering either LVT or a click herringbone floor. After looking at the property, we talked them through something you’d never know was there from the finished photos…

Part of the house had original floorboards, while the newer extension had a modern chipboard floor. Where the two met, there was a slight difference in level. It doesn’t look like much, but over time that movement and unevenness could become a weak point for a click floor and potentially cause problems.

We explained the options, left the customers to have a think and do their own research, and they ultimately decided that putting the extra preparation into a gluedown LVT was worth it.

So that’s exactly what we did. We levelled the difference with screed, plyed the floor and carefully spanned the transition with the ply joints to create the right base before a single piece of LVT went down.

And this is why the prep matters.
